Hi I have a LG ls50a laptop and the dvd reader is stuck in it can you tell me what I need to take apart to get it out?have all the screws off the back but I'm thinking I will have to take the key board out which I'm not sure how to do.

There should be a small hole in the front of the cd where u can put in a paper clip to pop the cd out. removing the drive will not give you access to the cd

I have the answer to your wonderful question. Actually your laptop does not have a DVD burner. That is because you need to have two DVD/CD slots to insert your disc. So to wrap it up and clarify your question is no. But if you have any other qustions be sure to email me at... [email protected]

Hi, this may be because you haven't installed the drivers for your cd/dvd burner/ just put in the driver CD that came along the laptop and install the drivers and it will work fine,
one more thing you should do is check if the drive is enabled in bios
to enter bios see what your system asks you to press to enter setup you should also look at the computer management screen in control panel if it has been disabled there
also check the device manager if it is listed there.
I would try and goto website drivers.com or driversupdate.com
these 2 website are one of the best for drivers and driversupdate let you download a program to search your compuert for the drivers that are missing makes it a little easier

Additional information: This error has also been known to occur when a memory stick is in a card reader and the computer is attempting to boot from it.
LG does not post their service manuals on the internet so it will be more difficult.
Make sure that you have removed all screws from the monitor, some may be covered by rubber stoppers, pry them apart on your damaged laptop.
It may help to follow this step by step for a dell, not that it will be the same but it will give you a guideline of how to handle the parts and the precautions to take
