Vob ifo bup files to burn as dvd trouble

I've got a folder with these different file types: vob - ifo - bup . It's a video of a wedding as well as a slideshow. Trying to form them back to the original dvd where i can watch the wedding video and from the scene selector or dvd menu be able to click and watch the slideshow. I've tried a few different programs with no luck. Would love some step by step help with specific program if anyone can help. Much appreciation and many thanks to anyone that can walk me through this headache.

Programs i've tried and wasted blank dvd's....
imgburn...created just a disc of the files
dvdfab...created perfect copy of dvd, but no slideshow
nero...created just a disc of the files

Try this:

Get the Nero 9 application
Install it on your computer
Create a Video Disk
And browse the folder of the VOB files Add it to burn the disk
Select Burn to burn the DVD ....

You may also try to put in a blank dvd and copy all the files on the DVD drive
Select burn these files on the disk
This should work

How to combine two dvd onto 1 disc

It can get complicated - but you could try this:

Use TMPGEnc DVD Author / Tmpgenc Authoring works, select add dvd video, select the video_ts(or the folder with the vob, ifo, bup files) folder. Click add new track, add dvd video, select the other video_ts folder. Repeat this for all DVDs.

You can also use the FREE DVDShrink but you wont be able to make any menus, use the reauthor mode, read http://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=538&howtoselect=6;30#538

How to rip a DVD easily

DVDs contain folders and files which are specially developed for DVD players and not for computers.<br /> If you explore the DVD on your computer, you see on most DVDs the folders Video_TS and Audio_TS. The folder Audio_TS is on video DVDs empty. This folders is normally used for audio DVDs.<br /> If you open the folder Video_TS you see that the extensions of the files in it are .vob, .ifo and .bup. The .vob files are actually the .mpeg or video files and only these files contain video. The .ifo files contain information like scenes and time. The .bup files are backup files of the .ifo files. These files aren't relevant for computers.<br /> If you double click a .vob file and you do not have any DVD player installed on your computer, the computer says that it can not open the file. But there is a trick to do let your computer play this file.<br /> The trick to play this file is to copy the .vob files to a folder on your hard drive. The next thing you need to do is to change the file extension into .mpg.<br /> Do not change the name of the file but be sure you change the extension of it!<br /> If you copy the .vob file and you change the extension in .mpg, there is no guarantee that it works. This depends on the codecs you have installed on your computer. But often this trick will work.<br /> So what is the solution if the above doesn't work? The following I will show you <a href="http://www.freedvdripper.org/dvdvideoguide/how-to-rip-a-dvd.html">how to rip a dvd</a>.<br /> Step 1: Download <a href="http://www.freedvdripper.org/">best free dvd ripper</a> and running it. click "Add". dvd-ifo-iphone-4-movie.jpg
What is DVD IFO?
You will find VIDEO_TS folder and AUDIO_TS on a DVD-Video disc. The VIDEO_TS folder includes the files and data for the DVD movie. You will find three kinds of files: BUP, VOB and IFO. The VOB file contains video and audio data. The IFO file contains video navigation information like chapters, while the BUP file is the backup file of IFO.
To load a DVD IFO file, it indicates that we can load part of the DVD disc for conversion. You will find VIDEO_TS.IFO, which generally includes all the information of the disc. The VTS_01_0.IFO usually is the main movie and other IFO files as copyright notice, extras and so on.

How to convert DVD IFO to iPhone 4?
A good Mac DVD IFO to iPhone 4 converter shall not only work on Leopard and Snow Leopard, but also be able to convert DVD IFO from DVD disc and DVD IFO from DVD-Video file structure folder on hard drive. Aunsoft Blu-ray Ripper for Mac is the recommended Mac DVD IFO to iPhone 4 converter for you to convert the videos as you like.
Step 1. Load DVD IFO to Aunsoft Blu-ray Ripper for Mac.
Download Mac DVD IFO to iPhone 4 converter, insert DVD disc to DVD-Rom and click the IFO/ISO button. You will face the Mac folder, choose the DVD from DEVICE, and open the VIDEO_TS folder to find IFO files. Here I choose VIDEO_TS.IFO for conversion.
Step 2. Choose iPhone 4 720p video output.
Click the Format option and you will find several profiles. Choose iPhone > iPhone 4 H.264 720P(*.mp4) for the output video.
Step 3. Choose subtitle for iPhone 4 video. (optional)
Click the "Subtitle" option and choose the preferred subtitle language for display on iPhone 4 video.
Tips: The subtitle option is generally only available for main movies. Some extras like interview may also include subtitles selection.

Step 4. Convert DVD IFO to iPhone 4.
Click the convert button to start converting DVD IFO to iPhone 4 720p .mp4 videos. You can also only make sure the checkbox of main movie on the list is ticked to convert the main movie only.
Tips:
1. You can load the entire DVD disc from DVD Rom directly by clicking the BD/DVD Rom button.
2. If you are using the Windows computer, you can try the Windows version of DVD IFO to iPhone 4 converter.

Can not play vod file on computer oops , I meant VOB files on my DVD movie, or why did MS media player fail, as all do.(OOBE)

I assume you mean VOB. I have not heard of a VOD file...

If you have gotten your hands on a VOB file somehow, chances are they have been copied/extracted from a DVD. VOB stands for DVD Video Object and is the core file of a DVD containing the actual movie data, an MPEG movie stream and the supported audio.
To play the VOB files, you need to have a DVD player that supports VOB format. However, if you have the Windows Media Player (version 12 or higher) or VLC Media Player, it is good enough to play the file. Note that you will see a prompt telling you that it is an unsupported format, don't worry about it and just play it anyways. It will play just fine.
If you want to obtain the VOB file from a DVD for some reason, just open the DVD in Windows Explorer instead of playing it through a media player. The VOB file would most likely be under the VIDEO_TS folder. Some other files that you will also see in the folder are IFO and BUP. The IFO files are the information files containing meta data about the DVD and instructions for the DVD player on how to handle the disc. The BUP file is simply a backup copy of IFO files.
If you want to convert VOB file to AVI or a similar format, aviNET is a great tool to do that

How to get 100% success DVD-Video Recovery with IsoBuster Pro

So the deal is you have a DVD-Video that you created and you want to make a backup copy OR your DVD Player skips on playback due to a surface defect or deep scratch, you have already tried to clean and repair it and still it wont work, check out my tip on how best to do this HERE

The quickest method is to create an ISO image using one of the top applications like ImageBurn or CloneDVD or DVDShrink the thing is al three fail on CRC or read errors on either the IFO BUP or VOB files so what can you do?

Using ImageBurn my personal favourite and selecting the VSO Patin Couffin Driver with a low read speed of x2.4 from the I/O settings interface and the default settings it will cope similar to Alcohol 52% FE and create the ISO upto the point where the first bad sector is then try to finish the ISO, it also tells you how many sectors are being scanned and the number of bytes in real time;

9d613f0.jpg

Using DVD Shrink pulls an immediate Cyclic Redundancy Error on the D: drive where the DVD-Video is inserted

fbc9545.jpg

CloneDVD pulls on IFO read error on VTS_04_0.IFO as this is a major requirement for successful DVD navigation it contains important navigational information, such as where a video chapter begins, and where audio and subtitle streams exist within the movie (VOB) file.

IFO files are not encrypted but without it this software can't correctly re-author a new DVD video using this method, the BUP file in VTS_03_0 is not a problem as it is just a backup of the IFO and this file is fine in this case, so only this one error is thrown up.

5801a65.jpg

Alcohol 52% FE will attempt to create it native MDS image file format and as lon as you check skip read errors and or use data precision management then it might work the main benefit is it will log each sector error and create a graph to show where the errors are in relation to the total number of sectors.

513cd6f.jpg

AnyDVD will rip any DVD, go figure, whether it be CSS or NOT if there is an IFO issue it will throw this error, not much help to us with a damaged DVD there then

672c6d1.jpg

SO WHAT CAN YOU DO THEN READ ON !!!

IsoBuster v2.7.0.0 is to the rescue, in the Professional mode you can extract the VIDEO_TS folder from the File menu it will scan the DVD for errors and then give you a list of the files that have Unreadable Sectors, you don't need the AUDIO_TS folder unless you will be using older standalone DVD players to view the result, its also in v2.8 Beta HERE on Filehippo it costs $29.95 (£20) an well worth the money.

0bbbde3.jpg

If you select insert Dummy and Apply always on the first sector that has problems then it will do this in this case at 42% for all subsequent bad sectors through the 100% complete 21 file extraction.

0d977ed.jpg

NOTE: This may take upto 4 hours depending upon the number of bad sectors within the files until finally it finishes with a full list of recovered files in this case original scan found 2 files a BUP and an IFO from different VOBs

f6267d4.jpg

The final result shows 2 extra VOB read errors withing the two VideoTitleSets (VTS) linked to the IFO and BUP files, into which IsoBuster has added dummy sectors to make complete files that will now play.

If you wish to then check the extracted files within the VIDEO_TS folder then use DVD Shrink it will scan all files very fast and you will see that the read errors are now GONE !!

7b91a05.jpg

SPECIAL NOTE:

In this scan and extraction there is a complete BUP (IFO BackUP) file for VTS_04_0.IFO as the BUP is an exact copy of the IFO and is good then just copy this good BUP and rename it as the IFO in place of the recovered IFO this will improve you playback for that Video Title Set.

The opposite can be one for VTS_03_0.IFO that had an unreadable BUP file just create a new BUP from the good IFO, this will help if the IFO ever becomes unreadable on the new DVD that you want to create.

You can apply this method to CSS encrypted DVD content using Slysoft's AnyDVD, but only if you own a licensed copy of the original to recover information from a badly scratched DVD-Video

Transfering Videos to my computer?

Sounds like you have conflicting file associations, which means that some types of files open in one player and others in another. However, this isn't your main problem.

To play the DVD file on the pc you need to have the .ifo, .vob and the .bup files in the same directory as well as the video_ts files etc. Easiest way to do it is to copy ALL of the files from each disk to a folder on the pc, then you can play them from there and format your disks ready to be re-used.

If you'd like further help with converting the format and sorting out your file associations please post again but the above information should cure your immediate problem.
