Top part of mixer is bouncing when in use.

The Head Lock is most likely worn. The 4.2 mb Service m\Manual is located here:

You may have a worn hinge pin: Figure 7 page 7 of the pdf file.
The spring for the head lock can be also broken. Item 20 this link: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5136226&diagram_id=28251571#d28251571

See page 22, figure 72 in section 5 of the service manual for pedestal hinge repairs. Most likely the set screw for the head lock has come loose.
