My front loading washing machine seems to either be retaining water, so that clothes are still soaking wet when the cycle ends, or the spin cycle isn't working properly....although i di watch one cycle, and the spinning seemed fine, but when the cycle stopped, clothes were soaking, and filled with suds.... HELP! This machine is only a year old.
Manual
The high speed spin of a front load washer should normally do a good job of getting squeezing out the water but if there is an oversudsing condition that makes it hard for the drain pump to operate then the suds and water will just stay there. First make sure there is no actual clog in the drain line then run a load with no soap or detergent and see what happens. It's always better to use a low suds detergent with this type of machine
Open the front door and load the clothing into the washing machine. Check the owner's manual for the maximum load size. Overloading the washing machine may interfere with its ability to spin the clothes and rinse them clean.

Sounds like your drain hose is clogged.
Thanks for your repsonse. You are correct! it was a clogged drain hose. I would like to make a comment here about GE, in general . My machine was a GE washer, i called their 800 number on a sunday, got a very pleasant english speaking person who set up the appt. within 48 hours. The repair man spoke english, drove up in a GE van, and resolved the problem in 15 minutes, and told me how to resolve it the next time it may happen. I just want to say that i was EXTREMELY IMPRESSED WITH GE SERVICE.
i cant get the water out of my front loading washer
Spin function failing both on chosen cycle & drain & spin cycle, seems to go through wash function ok, leaves clothes fully soaked in washer at end of cycle, gave E7 error code
My problem is my machine doesnt seem to have a soak cycle or any way to soak by opening led it is model numberW10420472A
On the front loading machines there is a filter at the front bottom of the machine. You have to open the cover and you will see a small hose. using a bucket place the hose over the bucket and open the cap on the hose to drain excess water that may be in the chamber and recap the hose when done. next unscrew the filter and clean and wash the filter, Replace the filter and all should be good.
