Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.
So it best to try this may clear what ever it is.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

I found similar solutions: Try reading these and see it if helps. If it does, please give credit to both me and original poster

I had a similar problem recently where the Lexmark X73 printer Power light was blinking and I got the "trouble communicating with the printer" error message. I could not print anything, not even a test page. I followed the Diagnostic Test procedure described above (in a previous response) but then cleaned the electrical contacts on the ink cartridge using a q-tip dampened with distilled water. It did the trick! The cartridge didn't look dirty, but apparently was just enough to cause the problem. I found the following sites helpful: For instructions on how to clean the ink cartridges: http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/26642 For instructions on how to un-install and re-install the print drivers and other Lexmark software problems: http://www.techspot.com/vb/archive/index/t-10556.html

Lexmark x5250 flashing green power light

The flashing light could indicate either a communication problem between one of your cartridges and the printer, a short in one of the cartridges, paper jam or the cartridge carrier has stalled. Please follow the steps below to fix the problem:

  1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder. Make sure there are no foreign objects or debris in the feeder.
  2. Open the printer cover and remove both the cartridges.
  3. While the cover is open, ensure there are no paper jams and the cartridge carrier is free from obstructions.
  4. Close the printer cover.
  5. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first.
  7. Close the printer cover and check the light status.
  8. If light on printer is normal, open the printer cover and reinsert the other cartridge. Check the light status.
  9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the light to flash with a new cartridge. You can also try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if the other is faulty.
  10. Load some paper. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Warning lights on front panel flash on and off, but will not print or copy.

Hi, Check the power connections.Disconnect the printer and the pc from power and then reconnect again. Check for paper jams in the paper paths and remove any stuck papers. You may also check cartridges status. Change any dry/damaged cartridges. Hope this helps. Thanks!

Epson Stylus PHOTO R220 red lights keep flashing

I hope this will help you :)
* Green Power light flashes- The printer is receiving a print job, replacing an ink cartridge, charging ink, or cleaning the print head.
* RED paper light is On- If the CD/DVD try guide is open, close the CD/DVD tray guide, load paper, then press the paper button. Your paper ran out or multiple sheets loaded at the same time . Load paper and press the paper butoon to resume printing.
* RED paper light flashes- Paper is jammed in the printer. Press the paper button to eject the jammed paper. If the light is still flashing , open the cover and remove all paper, including any jammed or torn pieces. Then reload paper and press the paper button to continue printing.
* RED Ink Light Flashes - One or more cartridges are low on ink. Check the message that appears on your screen to determine which cartridge is low, or follow the instructions in " Checking the Ink Supply". Make sure you have a replacement cartridge.
* RED Ink Light is ON- One or more cartridges are out of ink or not installed. If you have just installed a new cartridge, it may be incomaptible with the printer or incorrectly installed. Reinstall it or replace it with the correct cartridge
* RED Ink and RED paper lights flash alternately- The CD/DVD tray guide was left open when you turned on the printer or when printing on paper. Just simply close it/
* Green Power Light is Off; RED paperand RED Ink Lights flashing- Paper may be blocking movement of the print head. Turn off the printer, then open the cover and remove any jammed paper or other foreign objects. Turn the printer back on again. Or it may have an internal error. Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, then turn it on again.

My red and green light wont stop flasing. i have put new cartridges in.

If the pair is the green power light and the red paper light that are flashing, then you have a paper jam. You need to check the paper path (it's possible that a small piece of paper tore and is causing the jam).

I hope this helps.
