How do I remove platter from a MCS 6202 turntable?

1. Remove the screws from the platter - This is the first step in taking apart your turntable. You will need to remove the screws that hold the platter in place.

Be careful not to lose these screws as they are essential to the reassembly of your turntable.

2. Lift the platter off of the spindle - Once the screws have been removed, you can now lift the platter off of the spindle. Be careful not to damage the spindle as this can cause problems when trying to reassemble your turntable.

3. Remove the felt slipmat -
The felt slipmat is there to protect your records from damage. You will need to remove this before you can access the cartridge.

4. Remove the dust cover - The dust cover is there to protect the internal components of your turntable from dust and other debris. You will need to remove this before you can proceed with the next steps.

5. Remove the headshell - The headshell is what holds the cartridge in place. You will need to remove this in order to access the cartridge.

6. Remove the cartridge - The cartridge is the part of your turntable that actually reads the music from your records. You will need to remove this in order to replace the stylus.

7. Remove the stylus - The stylus is the part of the cartridge that comes into contact with your records. You will need to remove this in order to replace it with a new one.

8. Remove the tonearm -
The tonearm is the part of your turntable that holds the cartridge in place. You will need to remove this in order to access the motor.

9. Remove the belt - The belt is what drives the platter. You will need to remove this in order to access the motor.

10. Remove the platter -
The platter is the part of your turntable that the record sits on. You will need to remove this in order to access the motor.

11. Remove the motor - The motor is what drives the platter. You will need to remove this in order to access the feet.

12. Remove the feet - The feet are what support the turntable. You will need to remove these in order to access the base.
I hope this helps/Good luck!

How do I remove and replace the stylus and cartridge of an Emerson MS9923TT?

Most are magnetic pickups.. the is usually two tiny screws holding the cartridge in place there may be nuts on the other end so be careful not to loose them.. You will need a real tiny screw driver . Be very careful as the leads going into the cartridge are fragile. Other types fit in a clip type bezel which is part of the head. If you can find the stylus for it , it would be better than removing the entire cartridge. If I can recall the cartridge was a magic filter type ,that may be hard to replace.

My awa turntable with cassette, cd player and recorder (e 6906) has a problem. At the end of the tone arm, the part that holds the stylus is on an angle of about 10 to 20 degrees. The stylus is not...

This model uses a ceramic cartridge. Sometimes the stylus holding part can become damaged. It should be possible to get a new cartridge and stylus for the unit. It looks as it will either screw or just clip into the headshell. Either way look around for a replacement cartridge. If it has a number on the cartridge quote that. Remember it's a ceramic type - not magnetic.

It could be a bad connection of the earth pins to the cartridge. One turntable I had hummed even with an earth connection. I found out that the cause was the connection of the earth wire in a 3 pin plug.

I have a KLH model 24 turntable and I need to get rid of the hum without grounding it to a pipe. Help.

You need to attach the earth lead to metal. One solution is a metal case on say an amp! Remove one of the screws that hold the case on and attach your earth wire to that, then screw it back on the amp.

http://www.lptunes.com/Elliptical-stylus-for-Sony-PS-LX300USBE-turntable-p/stpslx0300usbe.htm

The whole thing just presses in and friction is all that holds it in place. The actual stylus ("highly polished special elliptical diamond") is that little tiny point on the skinny metal piece ("thin wall aluminum alloy cantilever"). THAT part is NOT a subassembly for you to take off.

Cannot get the platter cover off to change the belt on a l-a21 turn table . how do i do this?

Unplug from the mains power & the amplifier phono socket
To remove the plater: first remove the lid - then after securing the arm, FLIP the whole unit over onto the plater (perhaps resting it on your lap) then remove the all the black screws and the brass ones holding the rubber feet in place.
Inside you will find a tube (actually the "pit" for the spindle) undo the (awkward) retaining screw on the tube. At this pint the spindle is now free and would otherwise slide out onto your lap, so just redo all the screws in reverse order -in particular don't forget the Earth wires.
Then holding onto the turntable and plater - flip the unit back over.
The plater will now lift out freely, taking care to unhook the belt from the drive capstan/motor (on the top left) keep hold of the belt with your two fingers (as you have already lifted off the slip matt ) let the old belt slip free and place the new one on the Flange remembering to hold with two fingers as before. the spindle will slide back into the "Pit" (ensure that the bearing has not fallen out) still holding the belt in place hook it over the capstan and under the speed changing device. Try rotating the plater a few times to ensure nothing is trapped untoward, then replace the slip matt.
Re insert Phono lead and then mains power plug.
Place side one of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" on turntable and enjoy :)

Technics 1210 feedback/grounding problem

Since you've already replaced your RCA cables, and tried different cartridges, the only other thing that would cause this type of issue is your tonearm. It's probably on it's way out, and will need to be replaced shortly.

You can obtain a replacement tonearm HERE, however, it's rather difficult to replace the tonearm without experience or knowledge on soldering.

Good luck!
