Philips-plasma-tv-wont-turn-on-all-i-get-is-a-clic... Philips plasma TV won't turn on. All I get is a click...click...click...click....and on and on and on. Black screen. No sound. Just the clicking. This happened once before about a month ago. I turned it off and back on. The problem went away. I tried the same thing this time but the power button won't even respond. The only way to get it to stop is to unplug it. Any ideas

I have a 42in vizio led with about the same problem i replaced a 75 cent chip # u33 on computer board problem fixed.

I have the model Philips 37PF7320A/37 won't turn on and MOST articles on the Internet say it's the Capacitors capictors capictors..I checked all of them. My tv just blinked red lights, had the clicking sound at first power on, but then goes black. No sound. No picture. Nothing. Just blinking red lights.

MINE WAS RESISTOR no. 3318 , a 100 OHM RESISTOR ON POWER SUPPLY BOARD.

I BOUGHT REPLACEMENT FOR .99 CENTS SOLDER IT, AND EVERYTHING WORKED!!!

THAT WAS ALL IT TOOK.

JUST A SUGGESTION..
1. CHECK FOR BULGING CAPACITORS (90 PERCENT OF THE PROBLEM)
2. THEN CHECK FOR RESISTORS WITH MULTIMETER ( FALLS INTO THE OTHER 10 PERCENT OF THE PROBLEM.)

its the capacitor inside the tv open it up and you should see atleast 1 capacitor which has bulged ( looks like glue coming out of it ) usually a 3000 ~ you can replace these yourself no problem for around 10p each but i do warn you there is a chance you could lose your built in freeview in doing so!

Most Common problem is Bad Capacitors on the power supply board, they will be vented or swollen on Top. 1000uf 16v 2200uf 10v 3300uf 10v

it can be a poor contact or puffed capacitor in the power supply board

The power supply capacitors have dried out.

When you turn on the set and it has sound, can you bring up the menue? [email protected].

You can fix this yourself with a software upgrade - get the upgrade from Philips website - go to www.usasupport.philips.com, enter your model number, click on the verison of your model ending in /37, and click on "Software & Drivers"; click on the link that says "Firmware Upgrade - Software". Instructions are on the same page - make sure you only transfer the .upg file, not the entire zip file to a portable memory stick.
