I need to know what the modular cable is that goes between the main unit and the batteries on a Matrix 5000. Is it simply a cross-over mini-RJ11 (handset connector) cable?

Ccowl, APC has a great website. Have you tried it yet? The knowledge base they have on their products is huge. The cable you are speaking of may just be for monitoring battery voltage status, but that is only a guess. The interconnect cable could be a proprietary APC cable and only APC knows how it is wired "end to end" !!! 12fixlouie

Handset on Telstra T Hub saying "Out of range" when not.

You may have a bad RJ11 cord. Out of range simply means you are not getting a signal from your service provider or the base unit is not sending a wireless signal. It happens quite frequently when using VOIP or cable-based phone service.

Have your phone service run a test on your line to make sure it is getting to the main station thru your phone modem. It may need to be reset and they can do that remotely.

Hope this helps.

Crossed jumper cables when jumping battery on a 03 Chrysler town and country. What kind of fuse am I looking for fusible link or mini fuse?

Crossing the battery leads to one major fault and that is the destruction of the CPU in the ECM unit. The fusible links are either cloth covered wire next to the battery or ceramic type fuse holders in a block next to the battery.

Hello!
The positive main (big) cable goes directly to the starter motor, but the another positive cable goes to the central electrics placed in the engine bay under bonnet. See picture below:

Make sure that the battery communication cable is connected the the battery output communication of your smartcell. If Im not wrong maybe you connect the communication cable on the input of the smartcell communication board.

No battery communications

Hi,

You will get that message when the communications cable is not hooked up. It looks like a phone line and daisy chains from one battery to another and ends at the Matrix Control unit. If you have those installed and it still says no communication the system need service.

If you have a volt meter you can check the voltage from each battery at the plug. It should be 48 volts or more, usually on a fresh battery pack it will read 54.0+ volts.

Hope this helps,
Dean
