How do I reduce/eliminate the volume of the static between transmissions

To reduce the static bursts between radio transmissions alter the squelch setting on the radio. You must have a laptop or computer with programming software for that specific model of radio as well as the appropriate programming cable for that model radio.
Once you have downloaded the program from the radio to the computer via the program, change the squelch setting. A nominal squelch setting I use for any radios I program is 75 or higher. After making the alterations to the program, save it to a file on your computer and upload that file to the radio. Turn the radio off and on as necessary.
This should take care of the problem. If it still persists, increase the squelch setting.
Another possible fix is to change the squelch TYPE. If the radio is set to use a type "CSQ" squelch setting it will pick up ALL transmissions on the frequency programmed into the radio.
To alter this you must use the radio programming software for the radio in question and change the CSQ squelch type setting to DPL squelch type setting and assign a DPL code unique to group of radios you are using. If you pick up any cross talk from other users you can simply change the DPL code to a different DPL code. A very commonly used code would be 023N try to avoid using it. A code in the 200-300 range should be good enough.
If you have 2 or more radios they must all have the changes made to them or else they WILL NOT communicate with each other.
Hope this helps have an excellent day.

Two sets of Motorola Walki Talki radios will not communicate.

In addition to the channel and privacy codes, some Motorola two-way radios have a feature called Eavesdrop Reducer where you have 3 scramble settings available; perhaps you have this set on one of sets of radios but not the other. It should be something like that because otherwise there is no reason that by setting the radios to the same channel and privacy code they wouldn't be able to send/receive to each other.

How do i set my alarm and when do i know it is on or off....keeps coming on and i dont know how to shut off the alarm...thank you

This clock radio features a dual alarm system, with two separate alarms that can be operated independently. The alarms can be set to wake two people at different times, or to have a main alarm and a backup. One alarm features your choice of radio stations as an alarm wake sound, while the second features a buzzer wake sound. You can set the radio alarm, the buzzer alarm, or both alarms.
Setting Radio Alarm
1. Press the "Alarm Set" Button. The display will flash and the Radio Alarm Indicator will appear. If you do not begin setting the time within ten seconds of pressing the it, the display will stop flashing andd you will need to press the "alarm Set Button again. 2. While the display flashes, press the "Tuning/Set" Buttons to set the wake time. Hold a button for a few seconds to advance the time rapidly. Be sure to set the correct AM/PM time, as shown by the PM Indicator. 3. After setting the radio alarm time, you will need to select the station to wake up to. First, press the "AM/FM" Button to select a radio frequency. Next, select a station using the "Radio Preset Buttons". Rotate the Volume Thumbwheel to set a wake sound volume level. 4. After setting the radio alarm wake time and sound, you will need to select your 7-5-2 setting. The 7-5-2 setting lets you set the alarm for a full week, weekdays only, or the weekend. Before setting the alarm, be sure that the correct date is set. 5. After you have set the radio alarm wake time, wake sound, and 7-5-2 setting, press the "Alarm Set" Button twice so that the display shows the standard, non-flashing display.
Setting Buzzer Alarm
1. Press the "Alarm Set" Button twice. The display will flash and the Buzzer Alarm Indicator will appear. 2. While the display flashes, press the "Tuning/Set" Buttons to set the wake time, as described above. 3. After setting the buzzer wake time, use the "Date/7-5-2" Button to select the buzzer. 4. After you have set the buzzer wake time and 7-5-2 setting, press the "Alarm Set" Button once so that the display shows the standard, non- flashing display.
Activating the Alarms
1. To activate the radio alarm, press the "Radio Alarm" Button so that the Radio Alarm Indicator appears on the display. As long as this indicator appears, the alarm will sound at the set time and days. 2. To activate the buzzer alarm, press the "Buzzer Alarm" Button so that the Buzzer Alarm Indicator appears on the display. As long as this indicator appears, the alarm will sound at the set time and days. 3. When the alarm sounds, press the " Off/Reset" Button to turn off the alarm while still maintaining the programmed 7-5-2 alarm settings. To turn off an alarm and cancel its 7-5-2 settings, press its "Alarm Button" so that its Alarm Indicator no longer appears on the display. 4. To activate the snooze feature, press the "Snooze/Night-Light" Bar when the alarm sounds. The alarm will shut off for approximately nine minutes before sounding again. The feature can be repeated several times during the one-hour snooze cycle. 5. If it is not turned off, the alarm will sound for an hour before stopping. As long as an Alarm Indicator appears on the display, the alarm will sound at the set time, according to the 7-5-2 settings.
