Try other different searches. There are many manuals for different models. I don't know which is yours. If you let me know what the exact model(s) of the phones are. I'll try to get the exact manual(s) that you need. Try this one though. You can jus do the searches yourself, though. Just type the name and model in the search box like this.

For example:
<name><model number>
Lucent ny5443 (sometimes it works to add 'manual' and the end, sometimes not)

How do I get a dial tone.can answer the phone.just cannot dial out

I am NOT familiar with YOUR make and model of phone, BUT.... I've had several cordless phone systems over many years, and have had the same problem that you describe. First, here is some background info for you:

The telephone company systems USUALLY have two different dialing systems:
  1. The "old" ROTARY DIALS worked by MECHANICALLY sending out different numbers of electrical pulses which the MECHANICAL "receivers" at the phone company "Central Office" buildings would read and thus connect you to the dialed number.
  2. Some years ago, a "new" dialing system was initiated. That system was called Dual-Tone-Multi-Frequency [or for short, DTMF].
DTMF uses BUTTON KEYS which put out a different electronically generated TONE [related to] for each different NUMBER key pushed, and THAT series of tones told/tells the phone company Central Office receiver computer the number to which you wanted to be connected.

Around the world over the years, most phone companies have, and still use one of these two dialing systems, AND...

Most cordless phone manufacturers designed their phones to work WITH EITHER system, BUT....

The customer IS REQUIRED to "SELECT" which system his phone company uses, while the customer is "SETTING UP" his/her new cordless phone.

THAT process IS INCLUDED in ALL cordless phone set-up instruction packages I've ever seen!!!!!!

Either you need to carefully read and study YOUR installation-set-up instructions and then PROPERLY set your phone's dialing system [to PULSE or DTMF], OR GET SOMEONE who KNOWS WHAT he, or she is doing to do it for you.

I, and I think no one else is able to guide you via back and forth messaging on this site. At least I know I can't because I'm not acquainted with your cordless phone, AND I don't have an instruction/set-up manual to consult!!!!!

Track down your manual, OR search for a replacement manual; the dialer system selection process is NOT DIFFICULT IF you have the manual!!!!!!!

I have a Lucent 18D in the office and all the lines are working except line 3 of one of the phones. All the other phones and lines in the office are working. I've made sure everything is plugged i

Sounds like the line 3 button on that set is programmed as something else. When you press feature 00 and the line 3 button what does the programming say on the screen?

I have a Lucent model 103H. I no longer get a dial tone when I push the line buttons. I only get static. I replaced the two AAA batteries yet I can still not dial out or receive incoming calls. Do you have...

hmmm .. the lucent 103h is called a "partner 5 slot (carrier) chassis for partner internal phone systems .... used in business usually for multiple phones... unless you have a home phone by that same name .. if you do have a "partner" system then lucent repairs those for about $65 ... check the line before considering repair ... if you have a single standard phone that just happens to have the same name .. then you may have a damaged telephone line .. you can test that by unplugging this phone and temproarily plugging in another .. if it works then there is likely damage to your original phone .. usually its lightning surge protectors that fail (due to a nearby llightning hit) ...if a second phone doesnt work then there is usually a service jack near where the phone line comes into the house .. you can plug in there .. if the phone is bad there also then its an outside maintainence repair job .. thats free from the telephone company .. if the test phone works at that test jack then its often your responsibility to arrange inside line repair .. unless you have an inside line repair contract the telephone company may charge for inside repairs .... your phone company can talk you thru using the service jack .. you would first disconnect the rest of the house by removing a connector from the service jack then you would plug in a standard phone to that jack .. that makes sure the problem is either inside or outside .. if your phone happens to be chordless then there is more things to consider .. the handset and base have to develop a relationship in order to work properly ... that relationship can be lost in a power failure and must be reestablished .. usually thats done by removing power from the base for a minute then connecting it again .. so there are a lot of possibilities depending on what type phone you have ...

Incoming calls to office cause all phones to ring in classrooms

Changing ringing on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11.
At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
Next press the left hand intercom twice
The display should say system programming

Press the right hand intercom once. The display should say Centralized Programming.

Enter in the extension number that you want to program.

Press the line that you want to ring.
A solid light on the line means immediate ringing
A slow flashing light means delayed ringing (meaning the phone will wait 3 rings before starting to ring.)
A fast flashing light means no ringing.

When finished with that station press the right hand intercom and enter in the next extension to program and set ringing accordingly.

Press feature "00" to logout
Hope that helps
