HI, MY TV PCL5415R, HAVE SOUND BUT NO PICTURES SHOW ONLY BIG BLACK SQUARE

Set would seem to be either in PIP (picture in picture multiple mode) or the black box might be the TEXT feature which is found in the closed caption menu.

My old analog Zennith TV is displaying in what appears to be wide screen. This happened all of a sudden. Can I fix it or is it dead.

could be a deflection problem or if picture is somewhat small top or bottom or both only a vertical problem--if very old set parts may no longer be available.

HD50LPW42 screen is black with antenna inputs

It sounds to me like you have a tuner issue, I have seen this before. If you have a good picture from other sources and they have the same antenna input, the tuner is suspect.

I hope that this helps you solve your issue.
Thanks

Black square in middle of picture

your captioning or "text" is on. usually inside the tv menu. if not its your cable or dish box has captioning on. black box usually means its in text mode instead of CC thus the black box rather than text

How to fix TV

I have a large black square obscuring the picture. You can see the picture in 1 inch border around the black square. If I reset the input switch, the black square disappears for about one second (the picture is momentarily perfect) and the black square appears again. It is not the cable box because I wired the cable directly into the tv. The same thing happens when I try to play a DVD. Any insights????

Picture trouble

Good Day, britt93;
It sounds like you have the TV's CLOSE CAPTION on; in the text mode, turn off and you and the TV will be fine.
Good Luck, big IRISH.
