The 5 flash is telling you that you have a supply voltage problem. This can be an actual power supply problem or a problem elsewhere. One example of this is if a part shorts on your main board, it will draw the supply voltage down and trigger the 5 flash. If you have a meter, you could check the voltages from the power supply and see if they are ok. A 3.3v line at 3.2 - 3.5v would be ok, s there is some tolerance allowed here. A 5v line at 3v would not be ok, this is to low. It would be a good time to mention: these checks are performed with the tv back cover removed and with the tv in a start up state (you may need to push the power button a few times to catch and record your measurements.) If you find a low voltage, you should unplug the tv, then unplug connector where you find the low voltage. Measure the resistance on the harness connector, not the power board. You should measure from the connector pin which measured low to a connector pin which is ground. if you find resistance which if low (perhaps < 500 ohms) your power supply is probably ok. Yoiu will need to follow the wire harness back to the board it is plugged into to identify it. If it has other boards and connectors attached to it, remove them oone at a time and remeasure. if the resistance jumps high (more than 2000 ohms) you should suspect the last connector or board is the source. If it was a connector, follow and repeat the process. Eventually, you will identify 1 board that is causing the problem. I hope this helps or gives you an idea of what you need to do. Post back if you need further assistance.
