Turn the camera on. Slide the REC/PLAYBACK selector to record (the camera icon). Press the MENU/SET button. Press cursor-left, use cursor-up/down to select the wrench icon, and press cursor-right. Use cursor-up/down to select the talking head icon and press cursor-right. Choose the desired language and press MENU/SET.
The * indicates the particular languages that are NOT available for selection. Page 26 of the DMC-FS7 manual describes how to change the language, but also states that a number of languages are not available - as indicated by the * symbol.
Reread the manual again and see if yours is laid out the same. If you're still having a problem, please provide the model number of your camera.

The important thing to note is that irrespective which language its in, the menu choices are the same in all languages. i.e. if menu choice one is <data> in english, its the same in Japanese - even if it looks like a stream of rather pretty characters.
Menu language is dealt with on page 29 of the manual. It looks like a simple change if you recognise the icons they have used.
for instructions manual i can help then u can go thru enlgish manual and see from pictorial guidance if u can change the interface lang to english instead of japanese which u can do easily if option is provided becoz menu design is same let me know if i can help more on this
Slide the [REC]/[PLAYBACK] switch to the REC position (camera icon). Set the mode dial to AUTO (green camera). Press MENU/SET to display the menu. Select LANGUAGE (head with speech bubble). Pick your language from there.
go to オプション (options) then go to either 言語 (languages) or 言語はエリートです (language select) and scroll through until you find English or you see 英語 (symbol for english) i hope this helps ~good luck
