Print continuously I want my zebra lp 2844-z to print continuously. I use my zebra with notepad and I have a document that is approx 100 lines long. The document is actually approx 30 address consecutive labels The labels in the printer are 1.9 inches by 4 inches. However, every time I go to print the printer stops after printing one label. How can I get my zebra printer to keep printing all 100 lines on many labels from this notepad document? (I am not worried about the wording on the labels being lined properly as I will be able to solve this)
I know late, but we just had the same issue and it seems the sensors on the outside and inside needed to be cleaned. once that happenned, labels are not printing out continuously.

If your Zebra LP 2844 printer is experiencing shifting or off-center printing, there are a few possible causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check print settings: Ensure that the print settings on your computer or label design software are correctly configured for the label size and layout you are using. Make sure the label dimensions and print margins are set accurately.
Calibrate the printer: Perform a calibration on the printer to ensure it is properly aligned. To calibrate the Zebra LP 2844, follow these steps:
a. Turn off the printer. b. Hold down the feed button. c. While holding the feed button, turn on the printer. d. Release the feed button once the green status light begins to flash. e. The printer will feed labels and automatically adjust the label alignment. f. Once the printer stops feeding labels, the calibration is complete.
Adjust label position sensors: The LP 2844 has label position sensors that detect the start of each label. If these sensors are misaligned or dirty, it can cause shifting or off-center printing. Clean the sensors using a lint-free cloth and ensure they are properly aligned.
Check label alignment: Ensure that the labels are loaded correctly and aligned properly in the printer. Make sure they are inserted straight and centered in the label guides.
Inspect the print head: Check the print head for any debris, adhesive residue, or damage. Clean the print head with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab if necessary. A dirty or damaged print head can affect print quality and alignment.
Update or reinstall printer drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. If the drivers are outdated or corrupted, it can cause printing issues. Visit the Zebra website and download the appropriate drivers for your LP 2844 model.
Test with different labels or ribbons: If the problem persists, try using different labels or ribbons. Sometimes, the issue could be related to the specific media being used.
Try this START SETTINGS PRINTER/FAXES in the pop up window go to FILE/SERVER PROPERTIES DRIVERS SELECT THE MFC5440 DRIVER AND REMOVE SELEST THE LP 2844 DRIVER AND REMOVE Now go to www.seagullscientific.com and download the Zebra driver pack, once downloaded run it and install the Zebra Lp2844 to with the USb port.
This should solve the problem, if not please come back.
possibly not a real LP2844 but an LP2543, a printer mass produced for and used by UPS. refurbishers change the label and sell as LP2844 because they are almost identical.
if it has an AC-AC adapter, it is an LP2543. LP2844 uses a AC-DC adapter, and all LP2844's have USB ports.
The printer only understands EPL code. (Eltron Programming Language) If you are trying to print text from DOS it wont understand (interpret) the txt codes.
To verify that the printer is working.
Open a DOS box, start the dos editor. Type Edit. Dos editor will open.
Type a single capital letter U. and print. Send to printer. The printer will print a configuration label.
EPL code to reset printer is
^default.
If you want to print a text file. use the Zebra Universal Driver. Zebra TLP2844. Open any windows application. E,G, Notepad. type text and send it to printer. Print as normal.
1. Clean the print head with cleaning pen. 2. Adjust print speed/darkness in software. 3. Check the media and verify that print surface is facing up. 4. Check that correct thermal media is in use.
Lizardlick, I found this information in the user manual: Let the print head to cool for one minute, then use a new cleaning pen to swab the print elements (the thin gray line on the print head) from end to end. NOTE: You do not have to turn off the printer to do this. If print quality remains poor after cleaning, try the Save-a-Print Head cleaning film to remove buildup without damaging the print head.
