Can't power on

The power was on, red light, swithched to on, blue light, opened the disk tray, inserted a disk and closed the tray. At this point the blue light went out and now the red light flashes and I cannot get it to stay solid or turn blue.

Try unplugging the dvd player then plug it back in as this treats it like a reset.

How do you open the tray on the ps3. the power is on and im on the main ps3 menu but when i push button to open it just beeps

There is no tray on the playstation 3. It's slot-loaded drive; meaning it pulls the disks in and spits them out without opening a tray like you see on a desktop PC or a Xbox. If it's just beeping then that usually means there's no disk in there. The best way to check is if you see a blue light beside your red/green power light, then there's a disk in there. If it's just your red/green power light, there's no disk inside.

The disk tray will not open

Try slowly opening it with a flathead screwdriver. Get the tray open enough to put ur pinky in and try to remove any disk(s) that are in there. Plug it in and turn it on. If the tray closes ur system should be ok and try to open it with the button. If no good. Then try agian, but this time slowly open it all or most the way, then plug it in and let the drawer close and see if the button works to open and close it.

This is ussaly caused by a jam from either a incorrectly inserted disk and it jammed the tray. Or the gearing that is connected to the motors jamed up and the tray needed to be moved out to unlock the jam.
Closing the tray with ur hand and not pressing the button to close it also could of caused this problem

My CD tray closes before I insert disk

check the micro switches on the cd mechanism. these can go wrong sometimes. it's obviously not sending a message to the micro chip that the tray is open therefor it will close again automatically.

hope this helps?

Disk stuck in Koss c928. DVD powers up and says waiting. How do I get the disk out and how do I reset unit

There should be a small hole on the door of the disk tray. insert a paper clip in the hole to manually open the disk tray. remove the disk and see if the tray will open and close normally. If it does put another disk in and see if all is well. If not I would have a repair center look at it.

Did it fall????
try cleaning the disk and the lens
you can also run the auto diagnosis..

HERE'S HOW
Auto-Diagnosis (PlayStation 2 system) 1. Turn on the system without a disc inside. 2. Once at the Main Menu, press the triangle button to enter the Version Information Screen. 3. Highlight the "Console" option, and then press the triangle button again. 4. Next, press the X button, highlight "On", and then press the X button once more. 5. Now press the circle button twice to return to the Main Menu. 6. Press the eject button on the front of the console, and insert a disc. 7. Now close the disc tray, but DO NOT reset the system. 8. Highlight the Browser option from the Main Menu, and then press the X button. 9. In the Browser, an icon of the disc should appear on the screen. Highlight this icon, and then press the X button to read the disc. 10. If the auto-diagnosis is successful, the disc should load properly at this point. NOTE: The auto-diagnosis feature will return to "Off" the next time a disc is inserted.

PS2 disk tray problem

This has happened to me before. You will have to open the PS2 and clean the laser which is under the tray(or on top i forgot).
Use a cotton bud to clean it but be extreamaly careful cause if you put to much pressure on the laser your PS2 is gone for good!
