It should lock on all functions. It may be a bad lock or the connection to the lock. I would call the support for that unit, Westland Sales 503-655-2563.
I went to the RV dealer and looked at a new unit to see how the door handle actuates. After I understood that, I was able to take a screwdriver and GENTLY duplicate the same action. I had some success for several months after gluing up the broken handle before it broke again. The second gluing attempt didn't hold at all so we'll be purchasing a new handle unit. From some of the reader's forums, it is indicated that this is a very common problem. Supposedly, they have reinforced this replacement part. Unfortunately, you can't just purchase the piece that's broken. You have to buy the whole assembly for $40-$50. Nice after market income for the manufacturer since it happens so often - expensive for us. I just hope the new one is sturdier.
