If you want to boot the computer from the DVD drive, you will need to either enter the bios (normally pressing DEL when the computer first shows a screen) and select the DVD drive as the first boot device or alot of computers allow this to be selected by pressing F8 when the computer first starts.
If you can list the model number of your motherboard (It will be on a sticker on the board, or printed in large text on the board) it would help alot.
If you go into the bios, becareful what you change. A bad setting can also stop your computer from booting.

Hi im having trouble as it wont read CD or DVD

If it is a computer, try rebooting it. If it is a cd/dvd player, check what types of cd/dvd it reads. If you made a cd or dvd, make sure you finalize it so it can be played on other players. God luck!

Read a CD Do not read a DVD

Hi sachin,

Optical SATA drives don't come with drivers, they use the ones built into Windows. So What I would try first would be to uninstall the driver in the Device Manager, and reboot. Windows will reinstall the drivers on reboot.

To get to the Device Manager
click on Start
right click on My Computer
click on Properties
click on either the tab or link for Device Manager
look for your DVD
click on the +
double click on the DVD
uninstall
reboot

Hope this helps, let me know how you made out in a comment, if you need more help, feel free to ask in the comment.

My computer is slow and the is not reading or burning CD/DVD

Slow computer problem would be different then that non reading disks. Slow computer could happen in many cases, a virus is taking up all the memory, or defragmented hard disk, programs that required more memory and cpu speed. CD, DVD could fail to read due to loose cable, BIOS setup or damaged drive.
