My GE Profile Harmony dryer won't dry. The drum is turning but the clothes just won't dry. Circuit breaker is not tripped.

Frequently there's an obstruction in the vent duct from the dryer to the outside of the house. For the dryer to heat properly, the duct must be clean and clear of lint or any other substance. Your dryer has some internal ductwork. If it gets clogged, your dryer can't dry properly. In most dryers, to get to the internal ductwork to clear the clog, you have to substantially disassemble the dryer. A quick way to check for internal clogs is to remove the lint filter and use a flashlight to inspect the inside of the duct.

The dryer heats on and off. Sounds to be laboring to turn the drum. Service tech came out and did not know how to fix or approach the problem with why the dryer heats and dries a load and then may not on...

drum roller, drum glides, or idler assemblage which is located next to motor(might be motor going out). Here is a website that will help:

for glides/roller: http://www.partselect.com/dryer+dryer-tears-clothes+repair.htm

for idler/motor: http://www.partselect.com/dryer+dryer-wont-tumble+repair.htm

My GE Profile Harmony dryer wont dry clothes

I finally had a GE authorized tech come to our house, because we've had the same problem on and off for about 2 yrs. Our's is 5 1/2 yrs old, and the problem was the blower motor, which is hard to get to, and the nut holding the fan in place is also put on going the "opposite" direction. (So lefty loosey, righty tighty doesn't work for this one) The Tech told me in all his years he has never replaced a heater in any of these, and it has 2. The usual problem is the blower motor has gone bad. It's working great now, and it was $470 to fix, but still cheaper than a new one....

GE profile electric dryer, sounds like something is stuck in drum

Heating problem is most likely caused by one strand of your heating element is burned out. Heating element will have to be replaced if that's the case. Noise you are hearing is most likely coming from worn front and / or back bearing. Dryer has to be completely disassembled for either repair.
