Actually, if you record onto a memory card then you don't need any special software.
The best way to download videos and pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy videos and pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files.

Canon 40D unable to transfer files to my computer

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

How to download videos i recorded onto my computer. I know how to download pictures but video's from my camera don't download

Are you plugging your camera into the computer? If so, try this instead:
a)Ensure the camera is off.
b)Remove the memory card from the camera.
c)Insert the memory card in a card reader (either part of your PC/laptop, or plugged into the PC's USB port
d)The PC should see the memory card as a hard drive. Select my computer, open the "drive" that is your memory card, and then you should be able to drag & drop (or copy & paste) the video clips to the hard drive on your PC.
e) Click on the "safely remove hardware" icon in your PC task tray.
f) remove the memory card from the card reader.

Hi I want download recorded films from camera on my computer

There are two ways to do this.
One is download the free software and get a usb camera and connect it to the pc after the program is running and camera is on.

Or if you have a memory card in this camera, place all the memory from camera to the card and put the card in your pc and transfer the pics and vids that way.

What cable is required to download the recorded video on tape?

To download from the tape (not the memory card) you need a firewire cable, and a computer that has firewire compatibility. Most laptops have this, but desktops may require a firewire card to be installed.

I cannot upload pictures/ videos from my PNY 8GB memory stick.

The newer large capacity cards in cameras designed for smaller capacity cards seem to have trouble interfacing with our computers. The best best is to get a high speed firewire memory card reader and attach it directly to your computer.
This should allow your computer to recognize your card and also allow you quicker downloads.

Aiptek IS DV2

Seems like its time to flush the contents of the memory card of camcorder to a computer.
There's a limited amount of memory in every memory card. After constant recording, the memory  gets full and the recorded stuff needs to be either deleted or flushed (uploaded to a computer) to make room for newly recorded stuff.

Unless you have a blank memory card, your problem should be solved by the above mentioned idea.
