Hi jason;
Shall take it that you have a Side by Side setup? If so with rear cover off, when you start it does the cooling fan come on beside compressor? Also remove front grille and clean front condensor coils, full dust and hair all problems can happen. (like blocking of car radiator). Try these if fan doesn't work, replace.

Whirlpool refrigerator model WRT314TFDW00 won't keep freezer cold

that's just a top mount fridge so if you don't have any ice on the inside back wall of freezer and the fan and compressor is running you could have a freon leak,is everything running if not what isn't running?if you noticed that it has been getting warmer over time remove everything out of the freezer,remove the back inside wall of the freezer,look at the evaporator coil,if you see ice just on top of the coil where the freon lines connect to the evap coil then you have a freon leak,the coil should have an even frost pattern covering the entire coil,if you hear a clicking sound coming from the back then the compressor might not be running,remove the back bottom cover,there's a start device on the compressor part number WPW10448874 the easiest way to check this part is simply unplug the machine remove the start device off of the compressor and shake it,if you hear pieces jingling inside it the device is cooked,you can check it with a meter,you have to write back and let me or whoever might help you know what is going on with it so we can try to help you out,you write the freezer isn't cold and that can be from alt of things,touch the compressor is it red hot or cold?is it running or not,write back

LG Fridge LSC26945TT compressor getting to hot and not cooling

if it's not cooling unplug it so you don't damage the compressor,hopefully you just have a bad overload and relay,it's plugged into the side of the compressor,with the machine unplugged remove the bottom back panel,look at the compressor,remove the cover on the side of compressor and remove the start device or ptc assy. call your local parts store and give them the model number and buy a new start device for your machine.if you can hear a clicking sound every once and a while and the compressor is hot change this out first,if it still doesn't start then you have a bad compressor and will be in the market for a new fridge if the compressor is running take everything out of the freezer,remove the back inside wall of the freezer and check the evap coil,if the coil is all iced up you have a defrost problem,if the evap coil doesn't have an even frost pattern covering the whole coil you have a freon leak.if you have a freon leak you'll have to replace the fridge..hope this helps

The center of the fridge where the doors seal is very hot. Took of back cover, coolant lines are extremly hot compressor making buzzing sound.

Hello,

When you were at the back behind the compressor did ya notice that the fan thier by the compressor was running, what will make that center divider bar very hot (it's normal to be warm) is due to the fan by the compressor not running or the coil also near the compressor being clogged with dust. So check that fan and replace if not running and also be sure to clean that coil free of all the dust ( the coil should be cleaned every 6 months as normal maintiance)

Not cooling good

There is a fan down by the compressor that aids in cooling compressor and getting rid of the water that comes out of the freezer during defrost cycle. I am sure that you took the paper cover off the back of the unit on the lower back side so your unit might not have a fan. Now lets look at the fan inside the freezer is it running can you hear it when you open the door? Does the compressor make a clicking sound as it is hot to touch and trying to come on? get back with me ok ken

Kenmore Coldspot side by side fridge/freezer no longer cold.

The black thing is the compressor. It should run warm but not hot. This usually indicates it's time to clean the condenser coils under the refrigerator. Try using a long soft brush and your vacuum cleaner.

Kitchen aid superba side by side refrigerator

CHECK CONDENSOR FAN IN REAR OF UNIT NEAR COMPRESSOR. IF COMPRESSOR IS RUNNING AND UNIT IS COOLING SOME, CONDENSOR FAN IS LIKLY THE PROBLEM. IF THE CONDENSOR FAN DOES NOT RUN THE COILS UNDERNEATH AND THE LOOP THAT RUNS NEAR THE FRONT EDGE OF BOTH DOORS WILL BE HOT.

Burnt smell inside freezer.

Generally speaking it is the refrigerator control that controls the compressor operation. Refrigerator is cooled by air from the freezer. When the refrigerator gets down to its designed temperature it shuts off the compressor. The freezer control determines how much air is allowed to flow into the refrigerator section and there-by controls the freezer temperature.
