The F11 code is caused by either a CCU failure or an MCU failure...here\'s how to tell:

If your machine starts a cycle and the water fills but the drum NEVER turns, your MCU is bad...it\'s most cost effective to buy a refurbished one and you can get them on eBay for $99 all day long.

If your machine makes it most of the way through a cycle but throws an F11 code during the rinse or spin, your CCU has the relay solder / vibration problem...

F11 is a serial communication error. Communication between the main board and the motor control board is not being sent correctly. This could be a bad main board, motor control board or motor itself. The testing can get pretty involved. Try putting the machine in a self test mode and see if the error clears. Press Cancel, then by pressing the drain spin button once on the left side then move to the spin speed button the the right. Press this button until no-spin lights. Press the prewash button 4 times. C00 should appear in the display. Let it run it's tests, there will be 8 of them and end up on C08. If this doesn't work, it's best you wait for the service tech.

    No offense to you personally Prakash but why do I see this "solutuion" ALL the time? Maybe in some cases it might work, in most it does not. Everyone who comes to this site WANTS TO find a fix for their problem. Doesn't the site advertise "Fixya solutions for Everything." We come here really thinking that we will find a solution. Then to be told to "wait for the service tech"?? Why do you think we come here? WE want to fix it. WE want and Have to save money. If there is not a solution then pllain and simple say that. Somewhere out here there must be an answer. Even being told there is nothing that can be done is better than being told to wait for the tech to come to tell us the same thing. This site has gotten out of control and sloppy with solutions. If you have ever been one of us then try to remember what our goal is. I have put my issue here and so far see recycled solutions from the past.

If the washer starts to fill but the drum NEVER moves, your MCU is bad

Washer code F11??? I have a Kenmore Elite front loader
F11 Serial communication error
Communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the
Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly.
Possible causes/procedure:
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Check wire harness connections to the MCU, the motor, and
Central Control Unit (CCU).
3. Check the drive system for any worn or failed components.
4. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
5. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any
cycle.

I keeg getting the dreaded F11 anf DL code!
Hi,
The following list of codes indicates an electronics communication problem with the washer:
Duet HT® washer - F01, F03, F06, F11, F23, F24, F27, F28, F29, F30, F31, F32, F35, F42, F61, F62, F63, F64, F65, F70, F71, and F99
Duet® washer - F05, F07, F09, F10, F11, F13, F14, F15, F21, F22, and FdU
Duet SportTM washer - F01, F11, F23, F24, F27, F28, F29, F30, F31, and F33
PLACEHOLDER FOR ART
To remove the error display, press Pause/Cancel twice.
If Pause/Cancel does not work:
  1. Unplug washer or disconnect power for one minute.
  2. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.
NOTE: If the error remains on the display, then call for service.

Door locked/ cycle won't complete
If you need to get the washer door open, there is a manual release lever that you can use. The following links explains how:

I know it seems like a lot with the second link. In most cases I have found, the CCU is the cause of the F11 error code, but read through the information carefully and doublecheck everything. It can be replaced if you wish to perform the repair yourself. I hope this helps you.

Error F11
Plug off the wall. Shaking & vibration of your washer causes circuit board connections to become loose; due to faulty manufacture. Remove the 3 or 4 screws from the back & take off the top cover to secure the connections, make sure they are tight. This applies for the F11 & F dl codes. Works for certain machines, dont see why it wont for yours.
