You can't get any parts for anything online without an email address and a physical address. These parts are never found in a store. Durabrand is a cheap company of the 'sell and run' variety. There are no spares.
Seal under blade Assembly, on shaft leaks, allows liquid to enter bearing, which then fails, creates heat and overheats rubber, thus the smell. Bearing and seal must be replaced.
Hi!!
It sounds like the rubber seal is busted, there is not real trick to removing the blade assembly. It will be easier if you have a belt wrench, it looks like the oil filter wrench but with a wide rubber belt instead. Available at most auto parts stores. If not available, just have to apply enough force to unscrew it. Having a friend will help, one holds, one twists. It unscrews counterclockwise.
Good Luck!! Don't forget to rate this post!!
Here is a list of things to check for:
1. Make sure the blender base (black plastic) is tight to the jar.
2. Make sure you have installed the rubber washer between the blender blade assembly and the jar.
3. Make sure your rubber washer is free from any crud that may have accumulated and dried on. You may have to soak the washer and gently scrub with a scrubber sponge. If it's really cruddy you may have to repeat as necessary.
4. Make sure you have not caught any water (or other liquid) when filling it between the base and the jar. When you pour out the contents it will appear as if it is leaking.
This sounds like the black rubber coupler has broken. The teeth often get knocked off. Have a look at the part shown in hte pictures here: http://kitchenaidblenders.co.uk/Home/tabid/36/p/Two-%282%29-KitchenAid-Blender-Coupler-%2b-WS-Fitting-Tool-9704230_2plusWS/ProductID/175/Default.aspx
kalexis - there is no such thing as support for the Durabrand TSK-9368AP - Wal-Mart decided that the products were so cheap that people would buy a new one if it broke. What I would do is take your blender into an Ace or True Value Hardware store, and have someone find a generic gasket that will fit your blender.
