I did have a Agojama 17v drill. I have searched high and low for a replacement battery but with no luck. The manufacturer is no longer in business. Their Dutch factory is closed. I wish you all the best in your search. My drill finished up at my local council's recycling depot.
The valtage of the battery will not make any diference, you can use an 18v battery as long as it firs the battery housing. Always remember to disconnect any battery's if not in use because if you leave the battery connected it will drain and damage it.
You indicate that the drill is new. I'd suggest you return it for a replacement. Seems to be a defective or wrong charger. If you have problems and If you paid by credit card call the card company and have them stop payment on that charge.
Replacement batteries for the Workforce 18V cordless drill are available @ 888-315-3080 for $15.00+
I currently have 2 on the way via UPS
Note: This drill is no longer marketed under the WorkForce name (and Home Depot won't help you) but is marketed under several other names including Hillman.
