My amplfier was working until a couple of days ago at a low volume rate the amp works good but when i turn up the volume it cuts off. Keep in mind that i am not raising the volume to an excessive high rate just a tad.

Just a tad is all that it takes to throw it in protect mode so check the gain and the cross over and make sure they are set at a decent level and see if that works a little bit

My MTX Jack Hammer JH300 Amplifier is warming up... A red led indicates that the amplifier is warming up.I checked the conections and everything seems to be ok, I've a 10" Jack Hammer JH 4510 Sub...

Check the speaker connections from the amp to the box and inside the box to the sub. Its possible these came loose from vibration. Also gently push in on the sub. It should move freely and feel spongy. If it drags or is stiff the sub may be bad. Use an Ohm meter and test the sub. There is an Ohm rating on the sub (usually 4) and it should be close to that. Also check the audio in. Maybe the amp/sub combo is fine but there is no sound going in. Use an MP3 player with a 3.5MM to 2M RCA cable as an input. Start with the volume all the way down and SLOWLY raise the MP3 volume.

Amplifier works at low volume levels. When volume is turned up it cuts out for a few seconds then there is a click and it comes back on and then cuts out again until the volume is returned to a low...

Try looking at the rear of the amplifier to see what the speaker load should be...it will be measured in Ohms...you will then want to look at the speakers to see what the impedance is on the speakers...if it is LOWER than what is on the back of the amplifier, then you have an impedance mismatch which is causing the amp to go into protect... If the speakers are in fact the proper impedance then you probably have a bad speaker...you can test this out by disconnecting one speaker and trying it,,,and then the other and so on...another thing to try would be to obtain another pair of speakers with the proper impedance to see if they work...now if you try all this and the amp still cuts out..them there probably is a problem inside the amp...I specialize in Vintage Audio so try these things first...if you have questions feel free to email at [email protected]

Have a jl audio 500/1 i think something is wrong with the ground on the amp i intalled it and it was load sounded good but after a couple days i would turn it up and it would cut out until i turned it down...

you could have too small of wiring going to the amp for one.. you need to check the ohm load that you have the subs wired at to the amp... this is a HUGE reason for amps not putting out like they should... If it's low of an ohm load for the amp then the amp will act funny and shut off a lot... if you leave it like that it can fry the amp.

I have an Alpine M500 mono amp that works great, until you turn up the volume. I can adjust the bass down at the head unit, but at higher bass the amp shuts off. And then comes back on after a couple...

I don't think either, I believe your running theamp load too low with too low an ohm speakers and this cases the amp to produce more power but not stable and it overheats and the thermal protection cuts the amp off when the temp gets too hot to prevent damage.. Make sure your speakers depending on how they are wired do not exceed the amps load rating

1000 w sony xplode works at low volume then red lights at volume5

Most likely one of your subs are blown, or the Ohm's are too low for the ampliphier. Try hooking up one speaker at a time to the amp and see if it does the same thing. If it shuts off on one of the two speakers, that speaker is most likely blown.

Why does my KAC-8404 cut off at high volume bass?

amp 101

1/0 wire to the amp or the amps will loose power

check the connections mainly the negative

wiggle the wires see if you get a cut out or not

a cap will help you give constant power to the amp and not allow them to drain on long bass notes

hope this helps

Amplifier power cutting out

not enough power to amp and or amps location is too hot might want to invest in a couple cooling fans from computer store and attach where needed

an amp should take up to 3/4 load but when not enough air to it to cool it off it will shut down

try this turn gain all the way down and slowly work up too desired amp volume setting

I purchased my Denon AVR-987 about 16 months ago from Circuit city and did not purchase the extended warranty. I has been working fine, until just recently, The on button blinks, then turns off...

In all likelyhood, there is a problem with one of the surround amplifiers. With the volume really low, there is no current draw in the amp section. This unit requires service. Expect a parts cost in the $20-$40 range. Add in the local labor rate for the total cost.
