Unit is on fan not running
Hi,
There are many reasons for a dehumidifier to not work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrong with their dehumidifier.

If there are lights on the panel you can assume that the fuse is good. My problem was traced to a bad fan motor. Reason I suspected it was that neither motor speeds worked and I metered the winding from the ORANGE (common) to the RED and then to the BLACK wires on the motor connector after removing it from the circuit board. The problem was a tripped thermal fuse in the motor. The fuse is labeled 2 Amp, 220VAC, 130 degrees C. Search the internet for a thermal fuse with that rating. CAUTION: Be careful not to cut the winding wires. Keep point of sharp object close to the back of the outer wrap and away from the winding. If you can replace it yourself, carefully cut the outer wrapping close to where the orange wire goes into the winding. Cut the next layer of wrapping 1/2 inch away from the first layer's cut and carefully peel up and away. Observe the way the thermal fuse is positioned as the new one should be placed the same way. Replace the fuse and replace all the insulating tubes and the wrapping. The outer layed can be held in place with with a strip of masking tape. Re-assemble and enjoy. If you cannot do the work yourself, have the motor replaced in an appliance repair facility in your neighborhood. It is a good idea to order a motor yourself from LG and to take it to be replaced. One last comment: There is always a reason why these fuses trip. If you can't see a reason it is best to replace the motor. In my case, the motor was lacking lubricant. While I had it apart, I cleaned the inside of the bearing holes and the shafts. I applied a few drops of 3 in 1 oil in the holes and on the shafts then I re-assemble the motor.
NOTE: Use your own judgement on this repair. I assume no responsability for loss or damage that may result from my suggestion. If you do not trust your own judgment and abilities, have the repait done by a qualified service person.
