Ryobi 9 in. Benchtop Band Saw Logo
Posted on Apr 01, 2010

I have a ryobi bs901 band saw... the cheap latex(?) rubber tires disintegrate in a single summer season due to the heat in my Georgia shop. I need real rubber tires built to last a while. Any suggestions? 478-956-3719

I had to take mine back. Some of these saws come with a small gap in the rubber wheel. This causes the rubber to deteriorate over time, kind of like a pot hole. I've had the replacement band saw for 5 years and it still works perfectly.

I was astonished to find Ryobi no longer supple tired for the BS901 and then encouraged to discover the ones for the latest model fit but shocked at the price $34.95 for two
I had the idea of cutting a large inner tube into strips. It works fine although it has only had a few hours work yet. It is worth a try.

How do I adjust the tension on the saw blade

there is a slide adjustment on the top roller
It is used when replacing broken bands or bands of different teeth numbers
undo the lock nut and screw the adjustment knob until the band "twangs " when flicked
do the nut up tight

I am unable to remove blade

Make sure you clean the knob adjustments on your bandsaw. Sawdust buildup would cause stiffness of the knobs. Look for a manual online and follow the instructions on installing band saw blade.

When I saw a piece of 1/4" basswood my saw squeals like crazy. Otherwise I love the saw.

Change your band saw blade. Check out sawblade.com . I made several orders with them, they have real high quality blades.

I need an operators manual for my ryobi 9'' band saw (model bs901). Where can I get one?

if this is an older saw you would have to contact Ryobi at 1-800-525-2579 and request one be sent to as a PDF, I can't find it online at the site I use.

230 (9in) mm band saw

I have searched the web and found wheel tires for the BS902 model and the BS903 model but not the BS901. If you have the 02 or 03 model you can find the rubber tires @ ereplacementparts.com for $2.97 ea. They have 7 in stock according to their website. I asked you the color of the tires because I was hoping there might be several choices of materials available but this is the only one I found. Best of luck MC4X4
