Whats the meaning of error in canon e5 error?

"E5: The ink cartridge(s) is not installed. / The ink cartridge(s) cannot be recognized.

The ink cartridge may not be installed properly, or an unsupported ink cartridge may be installed.
Install a recommended ink cartridge.

Make sure to install both ink cartridges even when you set the machine to use only one ink cartridge in printing.
If one of the ink cartridges is missing, this error can occur."

Flahing E 5 and lights blinking on black and colored ink

Hi, the E5 means that:
The ink cartridges are
not installed[1401],
or a non-supported ink
cartridge is
installed[1485],
or the ink cartridges are
not installed
properly[1687].

Try with diferrent ink crg., Be sure to use genuine. If that doesnt help, the problem is in printer head, or logic board.

Hope that helped.

E5 problem

E5, says the ink cartridges are the wrong type, not properly installed, or not installed at all. You can't refill those without replacing the chip or resetting the chip. Many refilled cartridges just don't work...

E5 error

HI ...

This error comes in when the cartridge is not installed correct ... I would suggest you remove and then re-install the cartridge using the below steps:

Removing Ink Cartridges:
  1. After confirming that the printer is powered on, open the scanning unit (printer cover). The ink cartridge holder moves to the replacement position.

  2. Press down on the semi-circular tab to release the cartridge and then remove it.

Note: Handle the ink cartridges carefully to avoid staining clothes and surrounding work area.

  3. Remove and replace each cartridge individually. Or, remove the second cartridge after the first has been removed.

Note: Do not touch the gold electrical contacts or the print head nozzles after removing the protective tape.
