Husqvarna YTH 150 will not keep running. The mower will not start with the key ignition but can be jumpe started to the starter (the battery is new and charged) After it runs for a few moments it will sputter and cut out. Could it be either the ignition switch or possibly the relay?

I would say you have a blockage in the fuel system. possible dirty carburetor. check carb bowl if you see any dirt or water. take off and clean. be sure fuel lines and filter are good. check air filter also.

SOURCE: Mower Runs briefly then cuts out and wont restart.

These ride-ons have a cut out solinoid under the carby that when there is no power or the ign is cut it will drive a little pin into the main jet to prevent flooding, id say this is why your mower runs for 20 and stops...

There is a few reasons this could be occuring:

#1First I would be checking the battery see if its dropped a cell or has a dead cell, you can do this by load testing it with a load tester or removing it and taking it into a battery specialist. if this is the case the battery will not accept a charge from the charging circuit...

#2 Check your wiring with a multimeter from the armature under the flywheel all the way back to your battery (also these models may have a regulator/rectifier that can be tested they have test values and can be checked by your local small engine repaier)

#3 If all your wiring is ok then you will have a problem with your armature this is located under the flywheel on your engine it has two seperate windings one for the charging of your battery and the other powers your headlights / elec magnetic clutch, the one for the charging will be unservicable these can be diffucult to access and test and is probably best done at your local small engine repair shop...

Hope this helps you out

Kind Regards
Brad

SOURCE: Help! My Husqvarna YTH 2046

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. I am looking for your service manual but beed to know if your mower has a number on in ending in 3300, 3301, 3302, 3303 or 3304. An example of the number I need would be like this: 96043003300 The 3300 series numbers above are just the first 5 of 10 models.

There are 10 different service manuals for this mower and my best guess is the model number is something like this: YTH20K46

I think you have a blown 30 Amp fuse but need to find the location in the manual so I can pass that to you.

There is the possibility that the engine alternator has also failed also but, you said the LED was blank and the mower does nothing so that in itself points to a fuse / wiring issue.

From what I can tell the fuse is a flat bayonet type fuse and should be located on the left side of the mower about 6 inches in front of the mower deck looking from the top. I just can not tell what elevation the fuse is at. This fuse is in the circuit between the battery and the Amp meter. A second look for the fuse and it appears to be in the exact area even with the left foot pedal. Look in that area vertically for the fuse.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kely

SOURCE: I have a Husqvarna YTH 150 riding mower probably

I guess one could do a google search for "husqvarna mower parts", that brand is really made by AYP so you may want to search that too. When you search you get links to sites selling that stuff, you look at their web pages and see if they have want you want, if not then go to another link and hone your search.

Frankly what I would do is take the plastic pipe to a small engine/mower repair shop and ask them where they would find a piece of pipe to replace it. It most likely does not need to be clear, so about any like diameter plastic pipe cut to length would do and would be much cheaper than trying to track down and pay for an OEM part. Hardware stores often have various sizes of that stuff laying about to make into drain and sewage systems.

Hooked battery backwards, now it will not start

Do this test. Turn the ignition and your lights on. If there is no lights then you blew the fuse. This located in the operator station with steering wheel.

Hopefully that is all you blew as you could have blown the voltage regulator and/or the engine's alternator.

All safety switches are engaged still cannot start with key. Able to jump start from mower battery to starter and shut off with key. Help ?

Sounds like it could be either the starter solenoid or the wire from the key to the starter solenoid. Try to energize the S pole on the starter solenoid and see if it cranks and starts. If it starts, the solenoid is not the problem so it could be the wire that goes to the start position on the key switch. If it doesn't start, it's the solenoid.

Mower won't start

If you have jumper cables or a jump box you can put the positive lead on the hot wire running to the starter and the ground to any clean (unpainted) surface on the mower and the starter will get power. Place your key in the on position and the unit should start if it is getting fuel.

Hi, it sounds like the hydrostatic drive is getting too hot. Remove the battery and battery cradle and clean all grass and debris from around the hydrostatic drive and cooling fins. Also check the fan wheel on the hydro is not damaged. Regards Phil.

No start issue on Husqvarna YTH 150

I'm assuming this is a Briggs engine? You said you dismantled the starter. Did you pull the armature out of the brush holder on the bottom? It's a bear to get the brush holder with the spring loaded brushes back on the armature. If you didn't take it off, or managed to get them back in place, hook the positive battery cable to the terminal on the starter and touch the ground the the mounting bracket. It should spin.

Husqvarna Ride Lawn Mower does not want to start, which theres about 1/2-tank of gas. My Husqvarna Ride Lawn Mower is only a few years old which I have done some routine maintenace. The lawnmower has set...

I've discovered that if you leave key on battery will be drained to dead. Checking battery with meter shows +12v. When key is turned to start position nothing happens. When you connect meter to battery terminals and put key to start position the meter reads about .250 VDC. Even after taking battery to Advance Auto and have it checked it still does same thing. Eventually I jumped my mower with another battery that was being used in my scooter. Bingo! all worked well with jump. You would probably be able to jump with car battery with no problem.
