Every time i'm scaning a jpg image and i choose the "CD-R Printing" i take the answer of the CD-LabelPrint "A compatible printer for printing CD media was not found"
If you are as desperate as I was maybe this can work for you. CD labelPrint is not working because it thinks the printer is zoned for the USA. It thinks this because of a registry entry that doesn't seem to get changed even if you reinstall the drivers or reconfigure the printer onboard. Open regedit and search the registry for strings "Canon". If you find one that says something about Canon and a value mentioning "US" this IS your problem and salvation is near. Delete this entry, turn off your printer, uninstall everything to do with the printer including CDLabelPrint. Reinstall making sure to use the European drivers and make sure you designate your area as Europe in the installation dialogue and NOT the USA. When done, power the printer on and away you go.
If your printer is a US version, you may have to go here, choose your model and follow the steps.....

Same problem here - installed CD-Label Print which comes with my Canon Pixma ip5200 onto my Vista PC downloaded all the latest drivers for this model as well as the latest download for CD Label Print and keep getting "A compatible printer for printing CD media was not found" so can't print onto my discs. Same message comes up when I try and use any of the other software that came with the Canon package.
Printer on it's own works OK but I bought it specifically because it printed CD's.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
choosing cd label ,i get the message cant find a printer that supports cd label, even if the printer is working properly in other situations. Have tried to download drivers, it without any better luck.
