ruben, the PS1 is the only system created with the capability of adding a mod chip. When they first came out, the PS1Generation 1(PSX)could play burned games and DVD's. Sony discovered that it created an issue with the excessive wear of the cd drive, so they recalled the system. Then they re-released it and it couldn't play DVD's anymore. The PS2 could already play DVD so it has no mod chip function.

you can only change region 4 times per unit have you changed it befor? I know regin 7 is the united states.try going to the optiarc web site, I have the same dvd player recorder and have had prob. with codiacs but have fixed them.
The Cd may have been recorded in PAL format for Europe, or have the wrong regine we are in regine 1.. Some of the disk are meant to be shipped with equipment meant to go over seas.
