Washer wont start cycles.

When i start the washer it makes a humming sound, and smells like electrical burning. If I spin the tub a few times it will start, but when the next cycle is supposed to start it will do the same thing. I then have to turn the tub to get it to do each cycle.

My whirlpool ultimate careII quiet wash washer stopped working in mid cycle. It won't agitate, drain, spin, fill with water, nothing. The washer makes a humming sound and an electrical burning smell.

If your smelling electrical burn.. It's most likely to be the motor is bad.. Or just stuck, new washers made today are DC motors and contain a circuit board in the motor.. And are not serviceable.. Just replace them..

Maytag legacy series washer

The drive motor which spins the drum is connected to the drum by a rubber belt. Sounds like the belt is burned through. Make sure you can spin the inside tub by hand to verify that the tub can turn freely before you replace the belt. The hum is from the drive motor just spinning freely.

Washing machine has smell (burning) and doesnt spin or drain tub.

Sounds like the belt may need to be changed. it eh pulley are spinning but the belt is not, nothing will spin and the friction of the pulley against the belt will cause a burning rubber smell

Clothes washer tub spins on wash

sounds like u have a problem with the "brain". The agitator and spin cycle should never run at the same time. therefore it leads me to A: brain issue B:problem in the actual transmission of what cycle should be running. You will continue to smell the burning rubber due to the issue being one of the two explained above. Does it ever NOT spin? If this is the case the likely hood is that it will be a solenoid.

It made a quite hum during the spin cycle, instead of the normal (much louder) spinning sound. When I turned it off I noticed it had a rubber/electric burning smell.

If it's a squealing sound, your belt is probably bad. If it's a humming noise with those smells you listed, it might be your transmission going bad.

Seized tub - Maytag pavt244aww washer

you may have a seized up pulley on your pump. this will burn the belt. also check the pulley on the end of the motor.

Washer wont run but is trying to

Sounds like the motor or capacitor (next to the motor), the capacitor helps the motor to start, once running a switch inside the motor disconnects the capacitor from circuit.

Washer wont run but is trying to

check the motor for that, there may be smoething stuck ther. for the humming sound, when did this started happening? for the smell, check for frounded wire. for repeating each cycle, try to check for the housing if its still operational because the burnt smell and the cycle repeating is linked.
