Hey Karen, Water in the bottom of the dishwasher results from clogs in the filter or in the drain hose. Before you do any work on your dishwasher, make sure that it's switched off at the mains. If cleaning your filter hasn't resolved the issue, then the next thing that could be preventing your dishwasher from draining is a blocked drain hose. Is your dishwasher displaying an error code? If you see the E25 error code on a Bosch dishwasher, that means the filter is blocked or clogged, and water cannot drain out of the machine correctly. Bosch,. like many others have a "safe: cycle where the machine will always do a short pump out before it starts any cycle. If it fails to do a pump out even if there is no water in the machine, the machine will go into safety mode and will not allow a program to start. You will have to pull the machine out and check if the drain hose is blocked or kinked, and that the drain pump is not blocked or jammed. Toothpicks, bits of food and broken glass fragments are good for blocking / jamming dishwasher pumps.

This can be caused by the above or by, as the fault code indicates, a blocked drain pump.

You need to check the drain pump externally to see if the pumping is good Also remove the drain hose clamps and remove the drain hose flushing to clear off all dirt. Now test using power to see if this works and can be simulated. When refitting, the hose must be tightened properly. If the pump/valve does not work even with power then it must be replaced. If there is intermittent power to the drain valve/pump then the program controller unit is a suspect.

Finally the washer must be placed with a tilt- use a spirit level- so that all water will drain to the outlet port and thereby there is no residual water remaining.

Probably a blocked filter that needs cleaning.
You should find this located at the bottom front right of washer behind drop down flap/cover.
Unscrew anti-clockwise to remove and clean.

I have a bosch wfd 2473 washing machine...wont drain,I have had this problem before and resolved it by removing drain/filter plug...normally a button or hair clip....but this time there are no objects blocking.I am guessing the drain pump is faulty and needs replacing...?????
