I've tried to reboot my laptop, a Toshiba Satellite A200-AH9, with the recovery disc. It downloads the files and then the Microsoft Cooperation loads. After that the screen goes black, and a white line flashes at the top left corner, then the goes completely blank.
I've tried it a few times and the same thing happens every time. I've also tried to reboot it by pressing F8 multiple times and the same thing happens.
Are you trying to put win 10 on as it can do this some time, can take upto 10 15 min to load, when the like is flashing its dos, when the screen is black its windows it takes some time for windows to find a driver and load it so the screen comes up. i've had this on a200's before. if you keep rebooting you will need to wipe the hard drive and start again. this also does this on win 7 and 8. win xp it does not do this as its full dos setup .

Try flashing the bios by pulling the chord out attached to the "watch" battery.

try taking the hard drive out then switch it on without it then switch it back off, put the hard drive back in then it should work, if not try f8 then safe mode and do a system restore

Why not try this;
On start up bar hover your mouse on top of it, then right click, a pop up will appear. uncheck cascade windows down to show windows side by side. This should do it.
If not post a comment.

I've had this happen before. When was the last time you used the cd-rom to play a cd? Can you use a known working cd-rom to boot the recovery cd?
