Sony webcam no longer works with windows 7

I'm currently using a Sony VGN-CR510E. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, and ever since my computer won't recognize some of my software. It no longer reads the SD drive, and it can't recognize the built in webcam. I've tried installing previous drivers, and the drivers that are on the Sony website. It's been several months and I can't find any solutions. Please help, and thank you very much.

1. The drivers for this Web camera may not be developed for Windows 7 64 bit by the manufacturer.
You will either have to purchase a new camera to be compatible with Windows 7 or Vista 64.
This is also true for your SD card reader.

Motion eye doesn't work on Windows 7 Sony Vaio VGN-FZ220U

Your original Sony customised version of Windows included some dedicated webcam software plus webcam drivers. It is probable that you need both the software and the drivers from the Sony support website. The question is will the software work without you having a Sony customised version of Windows. Usually, it will work so try downloading and installing them. Check here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNFZ220U&upd_id=3092&os_group_id=10

And here. Study the page carefully to make sure you've chosen the correct operating system and that you have expanded the view by clicking "Open File List", etc.

After upgrading to windows 7 my inbuilt webcam doesnt work anymore is there any way i can fix this?

Hi nhung_nguyen,

You can download the Webcam drivers for your Sony Notebook from manufacturer website. Click here to go to the web page of your laptop for drivers.
Click on Download Now to download the WebCam Companion® 3 Software and run the setup.

NOTE: Unfortunately the driver supports only Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

If this information was helpful, please rate it.

FROM WHERE CAN I GET WIN.7 DRIVERS FOR SONY VAIO VGN-N250E

As if now windows 7 drivers are not available but you dont have to worry because Basic system functionality should be automatically enabled with the drivers included within the Windows 7 operating system.
However, if one of the drivers that came with the operating system does not work with your system, you can try installing the Windows Vista version of the driver provided by Sony for your model. Many of the Windows Vista drivers are compatible with Windows 7 based on current testing. Make sure you choose the bit version (32-bit or 64-bit) that matches your version of Windows 7.
