The cause of this is almost always something blocking between the outlet of the dispenser housing
usually it is the large hose that goes from the dispenser to the top of the tub itself if you remove the 2-3 screws along the back of the machine and slide the top cover towards the rear of the machine and then remove the top cover completly this will give you access to this area Usually you will find a large soap deposit or debris stuck in this hose or near the outlet of the soap dispenser housing itself . You have to remove the top cover in order to physicly clean and check these areas if you have any further questions message me back and please also remember when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation Thanks

This solution would basicly depend on if you have hard water in your water system hard water is basicly a mixture of calcium and magnseium here is a link discussing this issue and some ways of getting rid of hard water in your water system click this link http://www.envirocitizen.org/article/how-to-treat-hard-water/2044.html I do also know of a product that works very well for washers and dishwashers and is supposed to be used regularly in a front load washer the product is called AFFRESH and it is sold at your local home depot and I have personally used this product and it does remove build up deposits of calcium and magnesium within the unit as well as any stagnant water but the issue being if you do have hard water then you do have a consistent supply of these minerals constantly coming into the unit. Furthermore even if you do clean the unit with a product like AFFRESH you would in my opinion still have the problem return within time. In my opinion it may be best to look into a water softener or a type of filtered system that removes these mineral deposits from your water before it goes into your machine. If you have any further questions message me back I await your reply Thanks Rick
p.s if you have had your water tested and know that you do not have hard water message me back for further diagnosis these small brown flakes are usually a sign of hard water. I await your reply Thanks again Rick
