Use a slightly damp soft cloth to clean the LCD screen, then immediately dry with a soft cloth. Do not press hard on the screen during cleaning. Doing so could cause severe damage to the display. Do not use any cleaning solvents, such as glass cleaner or soaps, to clean the LCD screen.

NO, use NOTHING, but light soapy water. Better still, just a water moistened cloth.

What is the best to use to clean fingerprints on the screen? Soap and water or glass cleaner?

I always suggest Monster Screen cleaner, It is not alcohol based and is designed for cleaning LCD screens. I use this professionally in my tv shop, this stuff is great, even removes crayon marks.

What is the best method to clean the screen ???

For most flat panel televisions, including plasma, LCD LED etc the rule is to NOT to use house-hold cleaning supplies. Basically stay away from ammonia or alcohol based products.
You can use a soft cloth like microfiber (paper towels or hard fabrics could scratch your screen) and dampen it with water only for a quick fix BUT the right way to do it I believe is to use the cleaning material made specifically for this purpose. You can purchase these from any electronics store like Best-buy etc. Usually around 20$ or so for a big bottle and make sure it comes with the soft microfiber cloth. Do NOT spray it directly on the screen, instead spray it to the cloth then use the cloth to wipe the screen without putting too much pressure. Basically follow the instructions on the box for the cleaner.
You can also use the same cleaner for your computer, laptop screens and camera lenses.
Good luck :)

My problem is I can't get my kids fingerprints of the screen and I don't know what to used to clean the screen, any help please!

You can use glass cleaner but don't spray it directly on screen. Instead, spray your towel lightly (dampen but do not over saturate) with the glass cleaner. Make sure your cloth is soft, clean and free of any debris - as not to scratch your screen. This is how I clean all of my LCD screens.

Hope this info was helpful to you. Good Luck!

How should I clean it

You should use a dry, soft, non-static cloth to remove dust from the screen. And, YES, the unit should be turned off before you clean it. Halos are usually caused by pressing too hard on the flexible screen covering when cleaning or by static electricity (VERY BAD!!) from your cloth.

If you should ever need to clean the screen more thoroughly than a dry cloth will do, dampen your cloth with clean water and wring out completely (the cloth should only feel damp...not wet) and use that to clean the screen. NEVER use any sort of household cleaner on the screen, such as ammonia, liquid glass cleaners, or detergents. The screens are tough but more liable to become damaged through incorrect cleaning.

Streaks on the screen

Try using a glass cleaning spray, with a damp cloth & wipe the screen over, I often use this type of liquid to clean most types of screens from glass to plasma & LCD

I have a protron 26" tv. The screen looks dirty it is not on top screen(will not clean off)Looks like a cloud under the surface. Can this befixed? Thanks, Sue

If the surface of your screen is somewhat soft to the touch, you can't do much other than carefully clean it with glass cleaner. Using anything else (Mr. Clean or similar) you may make it worse.
If it is a 'glare-proof' glass, it may or may not be possible to remove it for cleaning.

How do you clean the screen

For a start, never use window/glass cleaner.
A lightly damp soft cloth (warm water) or you can buy special cleaning products for LCD's at any computer/electrical store.
