Hi, I have an LG 1412RD washer dryer. I received the DE error message so opened the front to access the door lock and plugged in the electric socket which seemed loose. Now I am getting the OE message and the machine won't drain. I tried to manually drain it, then put it on a spin cycle, but it won't work. Any help you can give me? Thanks

For LG washers, the DE error indicates a problem with the door lock. If you just started the cycle and the error occurred, then the door couldn't lock properly. (The machine turns off and indicates the error so that the water won't flood your laundry area.) First check if there are any clothes between the door and the frame. If needed unplug the washer for 5 minutes. Then restart the machine try to open the door. If you pressed Pause, wait a minute or two. If the error occurs at the end of the cycle, it may not be unlocking properly.

The latch mechanism may have failed or the PTC sensor in the latch has failed. The entire latch would need to be replaced. If the door locked failed with the door closed or the washer is under warranty, contact LG or a repair professional for service.

DE is for a door lock error and you will need to replace the lock. Here is the part to order.

'de' stands for Door Error. There is likely to be a problem with either the door solenoid/lock or the 'door closed' sensor requiring a service engineer's attention I suggest ;-0(

A DE Error Code is indicative of a “Door Error”. This indicates that the washing machine door is not shutting, locking or opening

If happening in mid cycle power of the unit and remove the power cord and wait for 5 mins.Then plug it. Check whether the door opens if not you require the service people


Check anything is caught on the washer door.

If you passed it they door may not open if the inside water is warm.It is a safety feature.It unlock after sometime

Thanks for using FixYa. DE is a door open error, you’ll have to check the door if it’s properly closed. Also check loose electrical connections at the door switch and PWB assembly. If everything appears to be fine then it is the door switch assembly that should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

de error code means the door is open. If code does not clear when door shut then could be door interlock or main pcb fault

would that look like a tE or dE? TE is Thermistor error. Replace thermistor and check wiring back to control board. thermistor is accessible from bottom of unit reaching up to bottom front of tub. in middle of heater element it just pulls out of rubber seal.
DE would be a door error. is door open or did it lock when cycle started. door lock asm should fix this.

Unplug the machine.

Plug back in (maybe 10 seconds later).

Mine had several dE messages. Unpluged, waited 10 seconds, when pluged back in, it remembered which cycle and parameters I had it on, then locked the door and continued with no problem.

ARE YOU SURE IT'S CODE IS TE AND NOT DE
DE IS PROBLEM WITH DOOR LOCK . TAKE THE WIRE OF THE DOOR SEAL AT FRONT . PUT YOUR HAND IN BY DOOR LOCK POSSIBLE THE PLUG HAS COME OF THE DOOR LOCK, IF NOT THE LOCK NEEDS REPLACING.
