DOWN LOAD OF HP DESKJET 640C PRINTER DRIVER

I have just completed a successful format and clean install of Windows XP(Home) onto my hard drive, and my origonal printer CD refuses to install. I message appears - Not compatible with Windows 2000.

I have visited here :-

...and have downloaded the 'Driver Detective' software.

I now need to know how to get the printer driver(s).

    I have just had a printer problem. When i try to reinstall my printer software from my origonal printer CD, it refuses to install. A message appears - "Not compatible with Windows 2000". My OS is Windows XP. Please help.

Hi. I've gost looked in my Win XP's known printers list and I found that win XP has generic drivers for HP DJ 640. In conclusion U don't need to install something.
Jost plug it in on USB or LPT1 (lpt1 - when conecting to the PC, the printer should be off) and when XP asks for the drivers, select it from the list...

first insert the CD which comes with your printer in CD Rom drive. it will autoplay and indicate you what to do. With its indication install the software. also in a specific time it will say you to connect the printer and power on. Do the same. after a while your printer will be installed successfully.

Bottom of page is cut off sometimes printing from vista computer
Hi- I'll try to solve this.

Go to the start menu and open the Control Panel. Double click on Printers. Right click the L7580 printer and choose "Printing Preferences" On the preferences window click on the "Advanced" tab. Make sure "Advanced Printing Features" is set to "Enabled" Under "Printer Features" turn "Minimize Margins" to "On"

This should solve the issue. If minimize margins is off, it will cut it off at the bottom.

Deskjet 640c installation error in vista
hello,

Tintin, try to download the correct drivers for vista here and install it to your PC. Disconnect the printer while installing the software. the PC will tell you when to connect the printer.
