My Dell 962 AIO printer worked wonderfully for the first year. It would continue to print long after the ink level message box said the cartridge was empty. Six months ago the printer started leaving leaving white horizontal streaks in documents. The problem is most apparent when printing pages, but will also appear quite often on received fax documents.
Cleaning/wiping the cartridges, printing alignment and nozzle clean pages does not help except for a very short term. The problem can occur with a brand new cartridge or a 1/3 to 1/2 used cartridge. I am using up ink printing these pages to no avail.
None of Dell support functions that I've found address this issue. Calling India for Dell support might get you a package of free cartridges after an hour long phone call of which you understood about half due to language differences. But it doesn't fix the problem.
Does anyone have a solution? I don't know if the problem is with the printer or with faulty cartridges. The first cartridge used out of the last box of 4 purchased worked like when the printer was new. It printed fine long after the ink indicator said it was empty. The next cartridge is about 1/3 down and I can't get it to print without white horizontal streaks despite going through all Dell's maintenance/troubleshooting procedures numerous times.
Undying gratitude for anyone who can help!!

I am having the same problem except no matter how may new ink cartridges I buy, this doesn't fix the problem. I also followed all the instructions for cleaning, aligning, etc., and nothing works. I called a printer repair shop and said it's the gears. Where can I get replacement parts? They want $100. to fix it and I can get a new printer for that. However, I really like the 962 and haven't had problems except the one described above. HELP
I'm experiencing a similar problem with my Dell printer, except that instead of white streaks I'm getting solid black strips over the "text" I'm trying to print. What gives?
I've cleaned out the cartridges and even bought new ones.
