TV Remote Control for Zenith TV Model Z25X22S
Remote control not working properly
Power button and channel changer does not work. Only volume control works. Remote has new batteries
Have tried two new Universal Remotes but have not worked.
Would like to find a place in Toronto where I can get a Zenith Remote control (for a reasonable price) that is compatible with this TV set.
Have contacted Zenith in the USA. They will charge $50. for remote. Too much to pay for age of TV (1997).

The tv has lost the menu,in order for the menu to come up in the screen it needs horizontal and vertical sync,the syncs come from the secondary of the flyback and from the vertical Ic.Is rare but We have seen it happen,sometimes you also have an Ic called character generator and it could be bad.You will need the assitance of a servicer for this problem because there are voltages to measure and signal to trace.

Invest in a long poking stick....... Either the Infrared receiver or controller it blew out. The high amount of static electricity formed and must of jumped off by the infrared receiver causing a momentary short in the circuit board. Safety's shut the tv down before frying, but damage looks to be done. It can be fixed, but only cheap if only the infrared receiver was damaged, anything else and it's going to be pricey.

Some TV has a hotel mode, try checking in Menu maybe your TV is in Hotel mode thus preventing you to maximize the sound or volume.

Air Antenna on the screen.
****** Press the Right or Left arrow to begin the Channel Search.
******* Press ENTER when the channel search is done.
Note: Auto Program finds channels being received by the TV
tuner
Cable will not work unless you subscribe to a cable service
