Unfortunately, this TV model was made by Comet under a license from Goodmans. Comet held all the technical information related to the model. Comet's business failed. If it was a warranty matter, you might get something. But you are not going to get technical support. That said, the 050 code entered into a remote being used to setup the TV may be of help.
Has the box got a scart socket? If it has connect the VCR to that via a scart lead. If the alba has two scart sockets then use the second one. When recording set the channel as AV1 or AV2. If you don't have enough scart sockets to connect your TV, VCR and Box, then get one of these Scart Switching Box from places such as Amazon or Argos.
If you switch your tv of at the plug the software cant do the updates. Leave the tv in standby over night and that should work. If you do leave it on standby but still losing channels contact goodmans as you may need an update of the software
The range and the airial antena have trouble recieving the new location air signal.Try buy a new digital antena and install it.Auto tuning it again.Should work fine.
The Antenna may be in a weak signal area heres a quick cheap fix Get a Freeview Box and connect it via SCART LEAD to your tv, if the Box picks up a good signal then your tuner may be very weak.. You may want to try a BOOSTER to the TV first, and if that fails go with an external freeview. My neighbor has a 42 and the freeview box WITHOUT an antenna attached resolves all the channels..so give that a try. I have a goodmans too with a slow tuner and I have to retune it sometimes even though it gets a good signal from the antenna. I will be getting an external tuner freeveiw box.
in your remote control there will be one button calles ASM or auto search mode you press it (or auto) tv will tune one by one channel automatically & it will stop.
now from prog. button you can up &down channals.
from vol +&- vol up& down.
good luck.
I have the same tv but no manuel. The remote has the code R-40A01 printed on it.I too am upset that there is no help on the Goodmans website for this model.
