No, a SIM card cannot store ring-tones. It is only capable of holding your phone number and contact information. You would need to get a micro-SD memory card and download onto that OR directly onto the phones memory bank.

Hi, How do I assign custom ringtones to my contacts in Samsung Galaxy S i9003? I have my ringtones in the external SD card and my contacts in SIM card. I don't want to loose my contacts in the SIM...

First of all, your contact need to be on your phone (why would anyone use limited area of SIM card ?!?) so you can be able to set everything additional on them, including ring tones. And when you place them on your phone, the procedure is trivial, just edit one contact and you will find and option to set a ringtone, choos sound when prompted and navigate to your ringtone's folder ...

Can not get ringtones to go on phone and can not get them to copy to memory card

Double check to see if you have a SIm card or a mini SD card inserted. In addition, you may want to contact yourservice provider since some contract packages and phones do not include ringtone downloads. I hope this helps. Good luck

How can I download my own ringtones to samsung schu410 on verizon network ??

Although your phone does support custom POLYPHONIC ringtones, this phone does not support Samsung PC Studio - where you can use software to copy ringtones from your computer to your phone.

However, by downloading the Samsung USB drivers and IF you have a memory card you may be able to transfer your ringtones to the memory card in your phone from your computer then:

1. From the main screen, press 'OK on the navigation key' > MENU, use the right navigation key to
highlight 'Settings & Tools'.
2. Press Sounds Settings.
3. Press Call Sounds.
4. Press Call Ringtone to choose:
• Preloaded ringtone(s) or
• Custom ringtone(s)
- Press Get New Ringtones.
Then follow the prompts.

To download the USB drivers click on the following link, then click on. "Software' just under the 'Downloads' Tab. Then click on the EXE File (under File) then download and install the USB drivers to your PC.

Blackberry curve ringtones

You cannot save a ringtone, picture, or music to a SIM card. Those files get saved to the "hard drive" of the phone. In order to get music into your phone to use as a ringtone, you must either

1. Download through one of those pay for services like Jamster or through t-zones or the like.

2. Use a data connection plan to download from the "mobile net". Sites are free that let you upload your music to an address that you can go to on your mobile web and download to your phone. The phone usually knows where to download the ringtone to on its own. T-mobile's t-zones costs $5.99 a month for the mobile web.

3. Use a USB connector and the media managing software for the phone to transfer the file to your phone. The Motorola RZR uses a software called Motorola Phone Tools to do this. The Blackberry also has its own Blackberry User Tools Software. Usually, the software shows you the "folders" on the phone and one will be called "tones". You put it there and it comes up in your list of ringtones.

Ringtones

I had the same problem... after much fiddling with it, found out that only contacts saved on SIM card could have ringtones assigned. Don't know why... but saving all contacts to SIM & then assigning ringtones worked for me.
