Hello there...

As far as I know there is no power fuse on the motherboard.

But can you try this: Power on the laptop without the battery equipped, only use the AC power adaptor.

Hope this helps....:D

The Dell Inspiron 600m will not power up when you press the start button. Battery is fully charged. BLY

Try draining the flea power first:

1. Remove the battery and ac adapter
2. Press and hold the power button for at least 10sec.
3. Put back the battery and ac adapter
4. Turn on the computer

If there is still no display, tell me if there is also any lights that flashes on the (numlock, scrolllock, capslock). Hope this helps

Works great on battery but will not charge or work on the Power Supply. The power supply is good. Problem seems to be the transistor in the charging circuit.

I had the same problem
eventualy the end fell off
i had a look at it and it turns out that the connector, after general use, snaps inside because the connection between the main wire and the connector got bent when i charged my laptop
i am now on my third charger and even that is dodgy

VOSTRO 1710 BATTERY WON'T CHARGE

If the battery will not charge, try this:

1.) First, power reset the unit by powering it off, unplugging it from AC power, removing the battery, then push and hold the power button on the unit for about 60 seconds.

2.) Next, plug the AC adapter back in (LEAVE THE BATTERY OUT), power the unit on. Does the unit power on?

If yes, Power the unit off and put the battery back in, let it charge overnight. If, after this the battery will still not charge, you will have to replace the battery. Contact the OEM to ensure you get the correct battery.

If no, remove the AC adapter carefully, look inside the DC port (where the charger plugs in to the laptop) you should see a small silver pin. Is this pin missing or bent? If the pin seems to be in good shape, then most likely you will have to replace the AC adapter. If it IS bent or missing, then you will need to contact a laptop repair center.

Dell 600m Laptop Killing batteries

If you are using known good batteries, and you have the most current BIOS Flash, then it is likely a failure of the charging curcuit on the motherboard. The flashing Amber (Some people see it as red) led indicates a failed battery

The Multiple good batteries, I assume have been recently purchased, because computer batteries are consumable and are rated for 300 to 500 charging cycles before they wear out.

I replaced my 700m motherboard with one from Ebay for about $170.00 about a year ago.

Garmin forerunner

This was recommended by Coopers4508 under the Forerunner 201 thread, and it worked equally well for my Foretrex 101.
As Coops said:
I know it sounds crazy, but worked without damage. Placed the forerunner in a table vice (long end to end) and gently applied pressure, opened right up.
It worked perfect for me - just be sure to compress slowly and listen for the separation of the centre seam. A very tidy solution.
