SOURCE: code for Vizio tv

I contacted Vizio the other day. They tell me that they use the same generic codes as LG. I have Suddenlink Cable, formerly Charter, so I still use the Charter remote. My remote only needed 3 digits and I have noticed that many need 4 or 5. I can tell you that the LG code worked for my tv. I can power on/off, volume, and change the channel. All other functions require the manufacture's remote. The code I used is 005. There was also 004 but that did not work on my tv. Hope this helps someone!

SOURCE: code for Vizio tv

Unfortunately, those remotes only take a 3 digit code. I bought 2 new remotes, which do take 4 digit codes, but the code(s) for the Vizio do not work (or partially). I found that the 4 digit codes for the Goldstar and LG work better than those provided for the Vizio, but still not as good as the original Vizio remote.

Not likely if it's been a year unless you bought the extended warranty.

NEED SKY CODE FOR AKURA APL3221W-HDID

Firstly you may need to identify which version of remote control you have, versions that are dated pre 2002 may not operate the more modern TV's and a new remote control will be needed see:New Remote Control Prices . To see which version you have, open the battery cover on the back of the Sky remote and look at the text on the sticker it will state 'Sky rev' (or Sky+ rev or Sky HD rev), followed by a number, such as 4, 6 or 8. This number indicates the version of your Remote Control.
Version 1: August 1998
Version 2: December 1999
Version 4: May 2001 (Sky+ introduced)
Version 6: March 2004
Version 8: January 2006 (includes all current Sky+HD remote controls)

Programming the remote control
To control your TV firstly switch on the TV set, point the Sky remote at the TV, press the "TV" button on the Sky remote, then press and hold the "Select" and "Red" buttons together until the red light at the top of the Sky remote control flashes twice. Enter the code for the TV listings below (Use the 4 digit codes from the left hand column), the red light will flash twice if a valid code has been entered. Press the standby button on the Sky remote control, this should switch the TV set off, if so then press the "Select" button to store the settings. You should now be able to switch the TV back on and use the volume control button from your Sky remote.
If the TV did not switch off then it may require a different code, you can either start again using one of the alternative Direct codes below or continue with this process by continuously pressing "TV" then "Standy" then "TV" then "Standby" etc until the TV set switches off. This will provide a manual scan for variations within that product code.

If you are still unable to control your TV from the remote control see: Programming The Sky Remote or go to Sky's official website where you can see if a particular remote control version number will operate your make of TV, this can be found at: Sky please remember to use your back button.

I misplaced the remote to the tv, but can power on and off with the satellite remote. I powered off and somehow the tv has switched to AV status and I am unable to change it back to tv status. When I press...

Hi There,

Don't press any more buttons at the moment as you may further complicate the problem. I really need to know which satellite remote you have to give the correct instructions, but the following applies to a large number of TVs.

First, press the TV button on the satellite remote. This simply ensures that any buttons pressed afterwards control the TV and not the satellite box.

Next look for a button on the satellite remote labelled INPUT or SOURCE. If you can find one of these buttons, try pressing it repeatedly until the picture from the satellite channels appears on the TV screen. If there is a TV/AV button on your satellite remote, press this once.

If you cannot find any of these buttons on your satellite remote or they do not switch the TV back to TV mode, please let me know which Satellite remote you are using. If you don't have a model number for the remote, please let me know the brand and model number of the satellite receiver.

Hope this helps. Please reply to me by clicking on "Add a comment" below your question.

Thanks,
BElectric

No picture

Instructions
  1. 1 Make sure the power cord is properly plugged into a wall outlet if your TV is not powering on.
  2. 2 Make sure the video and audio cables connecting your TV to external devices are secure if you are experiencing a fuzzy picture or no picture.
  3. 3 Reset the parental password if you forgot the password and are unable to view certain programs. To do this, click "Menu" on your remote control and use the arrow keys to select "Parental Controls." Enter the master password, which is "4357" to reset the password.
  4. 4 Turn off the caption vision option if you are seeing a large black box on your screen. To do this, click the "Menu" button and select "Setup." Select "Caption vision" and press the "Plus" button on your controller to set the option to "Off."
  5. 5 Check the "TV/Video" setting if you're not getting a picture on your screen. You may have inadvertently selected a video input that isn't active. Press the "TV/Video" button on your remote to cycle through video inputs.
  6. 6 Alter the brightness settings if you are experiencing a poor picture or no picture. To do this, press "Menu" and select "Video." Increase the brightness settings to see if the picture begins to appear.
  7. 7 Make sure the volume is not muted if you are experiencing a clear picture but no sound. Press the "Mute" button on the remote control to turn mute on and off.
  8. 8 Power cycle your Sony Wega if it's frozen or not responding to your remote control. Unplug the power cord and wait a few seconds. Plug the power cord back in.

My screen is frozen in updates. It tells me to press ps button to use my controller. What is this?

Its the very middle button on your playstation remote. If its saying press the ps3 button on your control its possible your ps3 is not frozen but your ps3 remote has just turned off..

Press the very centre button and check the lights on the top of the joypad. Are any lights lit solid? Once the light comes on solid the controller is active. If these do not light youll need to charge your ps3 remote with the usb cable that came with the ps3.

Also if your ps3 remote is lit for number 2, hold down the ps button, very middle for about 5seconds. Should have an option for reassign controllers, select that and put your controller to number 1.

Hope this helps

I turned the TV off. I held in all of the (4) buttons on the front of the TV and turned the TV back on again....this seemed to free up the remote control access and I was able to work the TV normally. The four buttons were the channel and the volume controls.

Remote control not working

have you program first the remote control, to work on your TV..??

Heres a few instructions how to programmed your remote..

  1. Test your remote control. To find out whether your remote control can operate the component without programming, turn on the component such as a VCR and press the corresponding MODE button (VCR) on the remote control, while illuminating on the selected component. Test the POWER button to see if the component responds properly. If not, the remote requires programming to operate the device.
  2. Turn on the component to be programmed, then press the corresponding MODE button on the remote control.
  3. Press the MENU and MUTE buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds, the button selected component lights on the remote control. If you don't press any button for 20 seconds, the button selected component will turn off on the remote control. At a moment, you have to repeat from step 2.
  4. Enter a code number using the number buttons on the remote. When pressing the button, the light is blinked at a time. Programming code numbers for the corresponding component can be found on the following pages. Again, if the code is correct, the device will turn off.
  5. Press the MENU button to store the code. After blinking twice, this code is stored.
  6. Test the remote control functions to see if the component responds properly. If not, repeat from step 2.
Try 001 as the PCode.

Thanks..

What do I do? You need to get a Pioneer Service Remote. When you have it you should press: [ESC] [A.MON] [Numbers], where [Numbers] correspond to the region number you want to set. Be aware that you can only set this once, if you set the wrong region number for your area, there is no turning back. " WTF! Am I supposed to get a service remote to get this thing working again. I haven't done anything and it worked before:/
