LG Washer: Model #1832CW will fill up with water but will only spin one way. Had to drain water out. Reparirman on phone said it was a bearing. What do you think?
Re: Washer will fill up with water but will only spin
Is it noisey on spin? sounds like control board to me. try this , open door and turn steel bowl by hand, left then right. if u can turn the bowl in both directions it is not the bearings. please reply 4 more help.the bowl should turn free in both directions.

From your description, it sounds like there may be a problem with the inlet water solenoid valve(s). They can stick after several years of use. The se valves are located in the machine, just inside where you connect the water hoses.
Keeping in mind that the soap & bleach gets dispensed into your wash on the
second to last rinse cycle and that most all rinse cycles are in cold
water. Is your cold water valve screen plugged causing your washer to
rinse poorly? Are you using the HE detergent? If not maybe the
washer is sudsing up to much and having a hard time rinsing all the
suds and bleach out and leaving the clothes soapy.
Fill the washer up with no clothes in it on a cold/cold wash setting
does it take a long time to fill the washer up? Also when it is full
and agitating is there suds in the washer?
Last suggestion is if the drain is hose is a lot higher than the top of
the washer it might have a hard time draining out all of the soap
water before the next load
If the washer won't drain water the drain pump might be defective. It's also common for a small sock or other article of clothing to get caught in the drain pump or in the drain hose. Check both for an obstruction before replacing the pump
The LG error code OE simply means "the pump is blocked". Presumably the water isn't being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn't pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.
LG themselves have some information on this error code..
Hi,
No you just need to get the drain hose up higher...the water is siphoning out and is either caused by the end of the drain hose still in water and not having an air gap or the hose is not going up higher then the top of your washer...
Lifting the hose up should give you an air gap and get the hose high enough to stop the siphoning...
