My w/machine is a Hoover 750LB Serial N0 130-2159.
It fills okay but when it gets to the wash cycle the agitator instead of washing it just spins round and round. It pumps the water out but will not spin. Can someone please tell me what is wrong with it?
Ok does that mean u know how to bypass lid switch so u can see the agitator and bowl while it is cycle? normally when the lid is lifted the machine stops.sorry to ask u this question but it will help in fixing your unit.please reply 4 more help.
i dont think it will the capacitor. if it was it wouldn't even spin. the square box is called the reversing module, they r not too cheap. thinking about the problem it all points to the reversing module being faulty. if u can, buy a second hand one to try, just in case it is something else. its hard to be 100% sure over the internet. unfortunely there is know way to test rev. module. on service calls i always have one in my ute to try. good luck and please reply 4 more help.

No when the machine is in the wash cycle it does not go one way then hum when it trys to reverse.
When the machine fills it wont go into the wash mode the agitator stays still but the water in the wash machine just goes round and round like its being stired.
Hi Luisa,
Yes I do know how to bypass the lid switch, so I can see the bowl.
This is what I have done to the machine so far:- I had my son strip the machine, my daughters bikini top was lodge underneath the inner bowl which I assume stoped the machine from spinning. we cleaned it out and reassembled it, now it spins, pumps water, spray rinse cycle is fine. it just does not agitate. The timer seems to be clicking alright.
I thought it may be one of two things :- the Capacitor; or the motor unit (the square looking box underneath the panel) but I am not sure which one.
this sounds like the reversing module or timer?when it is in wash cycle does the agitator go one way then hum on the motor when it trys to reverse? hard to pick this one, please reply with answer, had a think about this fault it must b timer. please reply 4 more help
