Door Error My Samsung big wash will not open the door when i press the electronic door button, it releases when i pull the cord release cable, when the door is closed the machine displays "door" and will start.

If the button release for the gas tank door on your 2001 Jetta is not working, there is an emergency release cable located inside the trunk that can be used to open the gas tank door. Here are the steps to access and use the emergency release cable:

1. Open the trunk and locate the side panel on the same side as the gas tank door.
2. Carefully pry off the side panel to access the inside of the trunk.
3. Locate the emergency release cable, which is usually a bright orange or yellow cable attached to the gas tank door mechanism.
4. Pull the emergency release cable to open the gas tank door. If the cable is difficult to reach, you may need to use pliers or another tool to grasp and pull it.

Once the gas tank door is open, you may need to inspect the gas cap and latch mechanism to determine if they are damaged or malfunctioning and need to be repaired or replaced.

1. The washing machine needs to be plugged in and in stand by mode with all indicators off.
2. Choose any one button on the washer's console except Power, Start, or Stop. Press/Hold 3 Seconds - Release 3 Seconds - Press/Hold 3 Seconds - Release 3 Seconds - Press/Hold 3 Seconds.
3. If the diagnostic test mode has been successfully entered, all of the indicator lights will glow for five seconds with 88 on the time display. (If it didn't work try #2 again One one thousand...Two one thousand...Three one thousand)
4. If there are any saved fault codes they will be displayed. If there are no save fault codes all indicator lights will turn off for a moment then back on with 88 displayed and the automatic diagnostic test mode will begin in five seconds.
5. If you are unable to enter the diagnostic test mode, press the power button and verify that the button you were trying to use operates properly to program the washer's cycle function. There may be something wrong with that function button. Find another button on the control that appears to work and try to enter the diagnostic mode with that button. You may also want to verify that the user interface has a good connection to the washing machine control board at the P11 terminal.

Perhaps you have a item of clothing in the latch. Press against the door while pulling that rip cord.

Open the door manually.
Open the drain flap on front left bottom
The door release can be seen hanging, pull the cord, the door will open.
Close and open the door 2 or 3 times and your machine will work ok.

If you have fuel door release cable & door is open, verify that cable moves in & out when you activate it. If yes you can adjust tab that it rests on so it will release properly. Just bend tab slightly inward at first, till it releases correctly.

I can't promise that this will apply to your car, but in my Audi, there is a manual release cable in the trunk, and your car may have one too. Go into the trunk, pull back the trunk lining on the side where the gas filler door is and look for a pull cord. Often the European cars have this feature since their gas doors are unlatched electronically, and this serves as a backup in case the electronic release fails. Take a look and see if you have this feature - I'd almost be surprised if you don't.

The comment posted 14 may 2009 it what helped me. DO NOT PRY OPEN the door. Find the release cord inside the soap dispenser,,,you may have to remove the 4 screws and lift it from the washer like i did. I had to lean into the door and pull the cord to release the lock. It was not a system error. The washer was over loaded and although the door was closed and locked...the load pushed the door enough to indicate that it was open and would not wash. After opening the door, rearranging the load and removing some, the door closed and latched locked and was able to continue with the wash. DO NOT PRY OPEN,,,use the cord release first,,,this worked for me.

This just happened to us.

There is a release cord/string that can be accessed from the front of the soap/softner dispenser.

Remove the trays in the dispenser and reach towards the front of the machine. Find the end of the nylon line. Grasp firmly and pull to your left if your are facing the maching. I had to pull a few time before the door opened because I couldn't get a good grip and I didn't know how hard to pull without breaking the string. It might help to push in on the door at the same time, to realease.

I have to say, I was really surprized to find the nylon line as I was looking for a way to remove the tray and try reaching to see if there was a latch release.

I had the same Problem on a 17112e Creda, I took the top off and using a torch located the red plastic door release mechanism, I then pressed a white button in the centre of it and the door released. I believe that the washing machine was overloaded and auto cut out. I reloaded the machine with fewer items and it is now working.
