So when i turn my PS3 on as it starts up a yellow light comes on then it turns of but after the yellow light goes off the red light flashes then you press the turn off button and it goes back to as if it was on normal stanby so what does this yellow light mean? and yeh what should i do?
The yellow light is also know as the yellow light of death casued by a hardware failure. It can be casued ny over heating a bluray drive failure, a hard drive failure or even a powersupply failure. You know you have it when you power up the yellow light flashes then you hear some beeps then the red llight flashes. I would suggest returning it if you have that option or getting it fixed somewhere else as a last option.
In order to fix your PS3 yellow light error, there are 3 things that you can do.
1 - Restart your Playstation 3.
2 - Check for loose cables.
3 - Unplug all cables, and plug them back in.
4 - Take out your hard-drive, and place it back in your console.
If these 4 tips didn't fix the PS3 yellow light problem, then it's high likely that there's something wrong with your hardware. In order to repair that problem, you can do 2 things. You either send your console over to Sony. Or, you simply fix the problem yourself while using a PS3 repair guide.
