PC doesn't recognize Passport after Mac use

My PC doesn't recognize my Passport after I plugged it into a Mac. Another variable is that I had to use a double USB cable to power the passport with the Mac. Now, the PC won't recognize the Passport.

MacBookpPro osx10.4.11 doesn't recognize new WD passport

the problem is that your western digital operates using the NTFS (New Technology File System) which is the standard file system of Windows. Apple macs is not interopable with native NTFS therefore you need to install a read-write NTFS file-system driver on your mac.

an excellent free mac NTFS driver can be found here-

My wd passport wont even come up

Does it currently connect to any other mac or pc???
If someone "yanked" it out while it was still in use, it could have corrupted the boot sector of the drive containing basic information about the drive that allows it to be read properly by the operating system. If this is the case you can recover everything without any data loss within minutes. Look over the following program, TestDisk v6.11.3, and see if it's something your willing to try. It's 100% free, no spyware, no viruses, no adware:
(Note: if you use this, you should experiment with it first on a usb thumbdrive you're not using until you feel comfortable with it)

WD Passport plugged into mac then PC, but no drive letter

Hi

You can either format the drive using the PC or install MacDisk on your PC witch will allow you to view any Mac formatted drive on the PC.

http://siteadvisor.de/sites/macdisk.com/downloads/17329989/

Click the link to download macdisk7.5.7.5 or reformat the drive to NTFS which the mac and PC will be able to share if the need arises in the future.

My MAC won't recognize my WD 80 GIg External HD

Some computers (especially Mac laptops) don't send enough power through the USB port to power a passport, so you need to get an extra power cord, one that combines 2 USB ports into one to get a little extra juice. Wish I could give you a website where you can buy that extra cord but I am currently looking for one myself at this moment in time.
