Diagonal shading problem on monochrome print

I'm having a printing problem with a Ricoh CL7200...
Noticed color (black) problems in printing text.... then printed a shaded box for a test... it comes out with diagonal bands through it... will not print a solid shaded box in gray color... colors seem to print fine...
any help would be great...

the black PCU was replaced a month ago...and I put a new black toner cartridge in it...

still prints fairly dark for the first 2 inches of the sheet, then fades to barely readable...next page prints the same... starts out ok, then fades...

Is it possible I got a bad PCU?? when I replace it...

the top 1.5 inch of page prints fine then the rest of the page prints with a diagonal fading of 6 light then 6 dark printings, each page is like that. when printing in color will do the same just not as easy to tell.

I would try cleaning the lasers with the brush inside the door. If that fails, you might try looking at the developers.

The Grayscale print option optimizes the look of color slides for printing on a black and white printer by adding shading. The Pure Black and White option prints your slides in monochrome.

Open the presentation you want to print.
Click on the word File in the Menu Bar.
Select the option Print.
The Print dialog will appear.

5.In the Color/Grayscale section, choose the Grayscale option to print in black, white, and shades of gray. 6.Choose the Pure Black and White option to print in black and white only. 7.Click on the OK button.

I have two black dots printing out on my Ricoh CL7200 any idea how we solve this

You have to measure the distance between dots, to see where is the problem. Probably there is a problem with black drum unit, or teflon plate in fusing section. Call for service please

Hi, you can get the CL7200 driver for a Mac OS X 10.5 from the Ricoh website here:

Just search for CL7200 under Drivers, and then agree to the site's terms of service. The Print Utility download for the Mac is 319 KB; you can click the link under Download. You can also download the PPD Installer (193 KB) and the PANTONE Color Palette (11,261 KB).

How to get a copy count on a ricoh 7200 printer

To view the copy count, you'll have to print a config page. Press Menu, then scroll down until you see List/Test Print and press OK. Choose the Config Page option, and you'll get a page or two of information, with the copy count (broken into black and white and color) listed near the top of the first page.

How can i make this printer just print in black ink only ?

You can't, HP and all the other printer manufacturers have designed the new ink printers to always mix a little color with the black. This is why if you you've noticed when you run out of black ink the text starts looking funny colors. If you would like to only print in black we recommend purchasing a small monochrome laser printer. The Brother HL-2140 is a nice, economical, and inexpensive unit for this purpose.

Ricoh Aficio 1232C prints colors with a red-violet tone, but it copies colors accurately. I have installed the RPCS driver and adjusted the color balance, but the problem is still there. Any adjustments I...

change your black toner... if it doesn't work.. then change black developer... still doesn't work then change black drum...

Diagonal fading/banding???

hi, i had simular problem on a 3245 which is the copier version, fault was caused by the dev unit drive clutch sticking on and stripping the dev out of the unit. it would need replaceing t cure the problem
